The rest of X776 went by without much incident. The movements of Bane's guild Phantom Tower were still being tracked by the members of Fairy Tail. Especially after learning that they had made an alliance with Phantom Lord which was bad for any of the official guilds that could become targets if they had dragon slayers or gained dragon slayers. By the time year X777 came around the Fairy Tail guild had become a bit more lively. The addition of Natsu Dragneel to the guild definitely did make things more interesting. Especially as he hung around Emily since he felt comfortable around her due to her smell and while it did bother Emily a bit she couldn't help but get a familiar feeling from the fire dragon slayer.
Laxus couldn't help but be a bit jealous of Natsu once the fire dragon became a member of the guild due to how much he hung around Emily. The boy seemed too comfortable for his own liking. The Thunder Legion could tell that Natsu being around made Laxus uncomfortable since they knew after a year that their leader had formed feelings for his red haired best friend. Something that they teased him about every now and then. Although they always stopped the teasing whenever Emily joined them when she was able to get away from Natsu. And that currently being the case after Emily had managed to separate herself from the fire user.
"I'm seriously gonna have to set a boundary with Natsu. He's starting to become a bit much." Emily said with a sigh before jumping when she felt a pair of arms around her waist and a head on her shoulder only to realize that it was Laxus. "Laxus, what's wrong?"
"I missed you. I barely get to hang out with you anymore due to the flame brain over there." Laxus answered as he kept his arms around her waist. "You are my best friend after all. Not a toy for that brat to pull around."
"I'm sorry. I don't know why he's so persistent with trying to be around me." Emily said before laughing a little bit. "I know. And me being your best friend is never gonna change. Natsu won't get in the way that easily."
"I think Laxus is worried the kid could get in the way in a different way." Bickslow said with a slight grin even as Laxus glared at him.
"What do you mean Bickslow?" Emily asked before feeling Laxus move.
"It's nothing. Just ignore him." Laxus said as he closed his eyes.
Emily was confused by how both Bickslow and Laxus were acting. Becoming even more confused when she heard Freed and Evergreen start to laugh. She really didn't get what was so funny especially since she had no idea why Bickslow had even said what he did in the first place. She truly didn't understand anything that was happening or the way that the members of the Thunder Legion were acting. Let alone how Laxus was acting towards her after she had been around Natsu for so long since the pinkette had joined the guild. His sudden change in behavior was confusing to her. Especially since she had noticed her best friend changing over the past year but she didn't understand why it was.
Laxus hated that he was becoming jealous over the newest dragon slayer that had joined the guild. Especially since he was so much younger than they were. He knew that he didn't have to worry much about anything happening to take Emily away from him. Or at least that was what he was hoping. However he did have a bit of fear of what could possibly happen if her father got a hold of her. It was something that he always feared deep down since he fell in love with her.
After a few minutes they were brought out of their thoughts when they heard fighting start. They weren't surprised when they saw that it was Natsu, Gray, and Erza getting into it again. The fighting was loud enough to get everyone's attention before everyone went back to doing their own thing since the fighting was becoming normal. However, the moment that Natsu came towards them, Laxus used his lightning magic to move them out of the way before Natsu's body could come into contact with them.
