The air was humid the next morning. What little belongings I had scattered around the shabby motel room I stuff into my bag, along with the stuff I had stolen from last night.
I locked the door and returned the keys to the front desk, where a kind older women with a round face sat.
"Have a nice day dearie, and be safe out there ! You never know who's about!"
I smiled at the old woman and her worries,
"Don't worry I will be, thanks again!"
I gave her a fake smile, walking out of the building and towards my stolen vehicle. With my bags in hand, I notice a familiar dark haired man.
He was leaning against his car just like last night, smoking. I could feel his eyes follow me as I past him.
"Be careful out there sunshine, lot of dangerous folk about."
My [ Hair Colour ] hair whipped in his direction as he spoke,
"Why'd you say that?"
"A lot of talk on the news about murders and such near here and the next town over, so you better watch yourself."
For some reason when he said this it sent chills down my spine. Unlike the kind, grey haired receptionist who's warning was more friendly and concerned, this man's warning sounded with caution and something sinister.
"I can handle myself, thank you."
"Whatever you say... but just so you know, most people wouldn't mind tearing into a pretty little thing like you, so you watch your back."
I smirk at this. All those souls I'd been tearing up came to mind, I might just be the killer he's referring to, and part of me wanted to rip out his soul right here just for that snarky little comment of his. Could have some fun with him first too though, after all he's kind of attractive in a slightly disheveled sort of way.
"Is that a threat?"
I say, smirk still present on my plump lips. The dark haired man just shrugs, his hazel eyes looking through me. I was about to try seducing this stranger when I heard the motel door bell ring open.
"Yo, Timothy! We ready to go?"
The blonde haired associate of the man in front of me came strolling out of the motel doors, sporting himself the same yellow hoodie from last night, despite the warm and sticky air.
Fuck that guy.
I quickly speed over towards my car and hop in. I didn't want to have to deal with that arrogant asshole again. I started up the ignition and drove off, but not before catching a glimpse of the dark haired man looking at me with his tired eyes.

It didn't take long before I was leisurely driving down a quite road that was lined with pine trees. The sun was beating down but the rows of trees cast a shadow on the car blocking the sunlight for piercing my eyes.
The radio quietly hummed some music that was playing on the charts, nothing I was particularly into just some catchy pop songs, and things were peaceful.
These moments are rare for me so I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could. My brain decided to go slightly on autopilot however, as I lamented on how I got to this point.
~
The world was shaking beneath my feet. I felt unsafe in my own home. I fell to the floor as darkness shrouded my room. Then suddenly light.
It wasn't beautiful or angelic light. I was hells light. Red and full of evil. It swirled around my room just grazing past my curled up form on my bedroom floor. It burned.
A creature I couldn't even fathom crawled it's way out of the fire. Pitch black form, twisted horns and red eyes. It's sharp toothed grin was directed towards my fearful face.
It put out its hand, almost asking me to take it.
And then -
~
BEEEEEPPPP!
I jumped in my seat as a car behind me set his horn off and quickly sped around me.
I was in so much of daze I must of been going under the speed limit. Thankfully the road was still quiet and it was only that one car but still I need to be more careful.
I let out a sigh as I put my focus back on the road ahead. Peace would have returned to me if the radio decided not to start crackling.
I hit it slightly with the palm of my hand but the static just got worse. The air felt heavy all of a sudden and the sunshine was no longer there. The world felt grey, like it had lost all its colour. My head pounded and I felt like I was floating in tv static. I touch under my nose. Blood?
I felt like I was no longer driving. No longer in control. My world fell black, I was being drowned in my own mind.
"Come Find Me."
I had so many questions. I wanted to scream. What was happening right now? I wanted to run away. Why am I stuck? I wanted out.
I saw in my mind a white symbol in the blackness. A circle with an X through it. It called to me. Begged me to come closer. I reached out to touch it.
And when I did it burned.
I wanted fo scream out, my hand was on fire. The symbol gone. I heard a noise.
I snapped my eyes open.
A car was coming towards me. I had drifted to the other side of the road. Panicking, I quickly swerved myself to the side I was supposed to be on. The car passed me without any problem in its end but my own car couldn't handle the swerve towards the wooded forest line.
The car bumped along the uneven ground. I found out very quickly the the ground was not level because as soon as my car swerved into forest it fell directly into a ditch. Great.
My head hit slightly off the steering wheel as I crashed, which is surely going to leave a bruise. My hand also slightly burned. Apart from the I was fine, but the car wasn't. There has been a tree at the bottom of the ditch which has stopped my car from rolling any further and the front bumper had completely caved.
I groaned in frustration.
I got out the car. It had done a number on the tree I'd hit too. Splinters stuck out of a slight crack in the tree which was just below a note.
Wait? A note?
I walked towards it, leaning slightly over the battered car to pick it up.
"Come Find Me."
