Hey everyone! I'm Yue and this is my first fanfiction so please don't kill me of you hate it 😗. This is a bit angsty, not like In Another Life but it has its fair share of onions. If anyone has any feedback on how to improve, then please let me know! This story was inspired by the song Heather by Conan Gray.
So please fasten you seatbelts, ladies, gentlemen and fellow humans; we are preparing for take off!Bokuto sniffled and shifted in his bed. He suddenly sat straight up. It was the first day of winter! Throwing off his sheets, he bolted out of bed and ran to the window, whisking it open.
His breath clouded in the chilly air as he scrambled along his windowsill toward an outstretched branch of a tree. Bokuto inched across the branch toward the neighbouring house.
He jumped onto the other sill and rapped on the window. "Akaashi!" he whisper-shouted. "Akaashi! Guess what day it is?" Bokuto continued tapping on the window. He jumped when the blue curtains twitched. Akaashi whisked open his curtains and squinted into the bleak sunlight.
"Bokuto-san? Why are you up so early?" Akaashi grunted, pulling open his window to let Bokuto in. Bokuto dived in, rolling onto Akaashi's bed. "Akaashi! It's winter now! It's gonna snow and we can go up to Hokkaido and make snow forts and-"
"Bokuto-san, please slow down," Akaashi sighed. Bokuto smiled sheepishly. He knew Akaashi wasn't a morning person, but he couldn't help it! Snow was just so exciting! Bokuto glowed as he thought of his and Akaashi's annual trip to Hokkaido. Akaashi smiled softly at his best friend's excitement.
Bokuto sat up, criss-cross-applesauce, and grinned at Akaashi. "You know what, Akaashi? This time, we'll make our trip super duper exciting! You know, because of my graduation!" Akaashi smiled softly and patted his leg.
"Would you like to stay for breakfast, Bokuto-san? Mother's making ikura rice bowls, miso soup and yakiniku." Bokuto grinned. His favourite. He could always count on Akaashi to be there with exactly what he needed.
Bokuto stiffened at this thought. His parents were never at home; always abroad, making business deals or slumped in a high rise office building taking phone calls left and right. Not that he didn't appreciate what they did for him! He did, he really did!
All their hard work bought him a lavish lifestyle and a huge house in Tokyo. He could do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted! But sometimes, all he wanted was a little love. Those were the times he'd go outside with his slightly deflated volleyball and bounce it against a wall. That is, until he met Akaashi.
I hope you're all comfortable. We'll experience some turbulence soon so I advise you all to secure your belongings. Next chapter:
- Flashback
- Curious Kōtarō
- "Yes, Bokuto-san. I do."
