Hey guys! So this next part we go back to the present! By the way, I think this story will only have 5 or 6 chapters but I have a bunch of ideas for another one. Okay, enjoy the flight!
~Time skip to that night brought to you by Akaashi's goddamn beautiful eyes~
Bokuto swung his legs as he sat on the bench, chewing happily on his dango. Akaashi took a bite of his ikayaki and stared out across the river. "Agashee. Dhu you wanf some?" Bokuto asked, holding the last two dango balls to Akaashi. Akaashi smiled and took one. He offered his plate up to Bokuto, who squeaked with happiness and attacked Akaashi's plate.
Akaashi looked across the boardwalk. The food vendors in Tokyo were very busy with customers crowding stands in search of snacks. One girl caught his eye. She ran a hand through her (h/l), (h/c) hair and smiled at her friend. "Akaashi, do you want to go to the yakitori stand next? I want some meat! It's been so long since I've had some!" Bokuto exclaimed. Akaashi chuckled. "Bokuto-san, we just had a barbecue yesterday." Bokuto jumped up in indignation. "Yes, but that was for lunch, Akaashi, lunch! How do you go so long without meat!"
Keiji sighed and stood up, his shoes thudding across the boardwalk. He stopped as he saw the pretty girl from earlier staring at him. There was something about her that felt familiar to him. Perhaps he had seen her before. Without hesitation, he walked up to her, Bokuto trailing behind him, still eating Akaashi's ikayaki.
Akaashi tapped the girl's shoulder and she turned around, blinking in surprise as she saw Akaashi staring blankly at her. "A-Akaashi?" she asked. "Yes, that's me. But who are you?" he asked, bluntly. "O-Oh, me? I'm (Y/N)!" Akaashi took a breath. Y/N. "How do you know my name?" he asked, cocking a perfect eyebrow. (Y/N) blushed furiously and stuttered, "I go to F-Fukurōdani Academy as well. You're in my math class. Akaashi Keiji."
Akaashi blanked. How, just how, had he not noticed this beautiful girl sitting in his class? Now that he thought about it, he could recall seeing her around school. She was in her second year and would always hang out with her friends on the Cherry Blossom Path that ran through the centre of the school. A small blush dusted Akaashi's cheeks as he looked at (Y/N), hair slightly ruffled from the breeze and her (e/c) eyes reflecting the colourful festival lights.
Bokuto watched from afar as Akaashi talked to (Y/N). He and (Y/N) were actually good friends and she would often tutor him in math when Akaashi couldn't. Afterwards, they'd go to a convenience store and get chocolate so they could watch old action movies.
He was excited that Akaashi was making a new friend but a conniving voice inside him said that there was more to it. That that's not how friends look at each other. Bokuto shook his head. "No," he said out loud. "You should be happy for Akaashi, Kōtarō. This isn't very nice of you."
As he said this, Akaashi turned around and glanced at Bokuto. "I should probably get going," he told (Y/N). "When you leave Bokuto-san alone for too long, he starts talking to himself. So as not to feel lonely."
(Y/N) chuckled and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "I didn't know that. He doesn't talk to himself when we hang out." Before Akaashi could ask her about it, Bokuto was behind him, tugging on his arm. "Hey (Y/N)! Can I have some?" he chirped cheerily, looking down at the untouched taiyaki in her hands. (Y/N) scoffed and handed him the taiyaki. "Bo-chan, you should probably not eat so much. You'll get a stomach ache, you know," she chided.
Bokuto paid no attention and waved the taiyaki in the air and then took a huge bite out of its head. Akaashi sighed again and took the taiyaki out of Bokuto's hands and brushed his hand across Bokuto's cheek, which was splattered with crumbs. Bokuto involuntarily heated up, his skin picking up on every movement that Akaashi's delicate fingers made as they trailed across his face, coming to a rest at Bokuto's jaw. He looked up into Akaashi's eyes to find them looking at his. Akaashi gulped, his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat.
Suddenly, (Y/N) sneezed making both of the jump and look away. "W-Well I'll see you later Bo-chan, A-Akaashi!" (Y/N) smiled and pulled on her friend's arm, who smirked at her and pulled her in to whisper to her.
Bokuto sighed, his cheek feeling cold without Akaashi's hand on it. Bokuto blinked. No, what was he thinking? He was just a bit cold, that's all. Akaashi had nothing to do with it. He pulled his black zip-up hoodie around himself tighter, glancing over at Akaashi, his glasses fogging up from the cold.
Well, even if his feelings weren't those of friendship, they would have time. Besides, Akaashi would never leave him. They had each other and that would be enough.
Right?
Thanks for joining me and stay tuned for our next adventure! Next chapter:
