The first to come at her was naruto, a ball of swirling chakra in his hand. Sakura sidestepped, and was jabbed in her left arm by Neji, pain racing from her blocked chakra paths.
Shit.
She released her seal. However, she didn't completely open it-she might need some later, and all she had to do here was get through. Not kill them.
I hope.
She slammed the ground with her right arm, her left still blocked from having chakra, opening chasms that consumed some of the less agile goddess and gods.
But she was still surrounded by lee, Neji, Hinata, Naruto, and Sasuke.
Lee could more then match her in hand to hand, so that was out. Neji and Hinata specialized in close combat attacking, and she was lucky She hadn't been crushed by Neji's first hit.
So that left one of her best friends, and her...
No, don't think about that, remember, you have to escape.
Already a red haze hovered over naruto's skin. And Sasuke...she couldn't look, but his sharingan was probably out.
She heard a crackle. And chidori.
So, what to do? If she left an opening by attacking, someone would hit her.
But, then again, as long as it isn't Hinata or Neji...I should be able to heal myself.
Let's try naruto.
After all, he never was very good at aiming. (Though he was incredibly powerful) But that mean that she would be most open to...
Sasuke.
Rushing towards her more animal then human friend. now her back was wide open.
Take the bait!
The crackle of lightning came from behind her-she ran faster, now she was almost upon naruto-and she dodged under his swing.
I escaped!
And then the hand pushed through her chest, the last sparks lightning flicking off from it.
Her blood gurgled out, staining the before clean hospital floor.
Then the hand drew back.
Heal!
She couldn't run, not yet, she was sinking to the floor, and she needed to heal.
Her hand went over the gap in her body and green fire shone through her fingers as she repaired her lungs, heart, bones, and skin. They were on her as she did so, though she rolled to try and get away, but lee got a knife in her arm.
Well, she didn't need that to run anyway.
She had broken the circle, and now would run.
He had promised, late one night after they had talked and had too much wine, that he would never hurt her again.
Now, he had ripped her heart.
She had told herself, all those years, that she would find him, that there was no place he could run that she would not go.
Now, she ran, away from him.
