It was supposed to be a simple patrol; lasting anywhere from two to three hours at this time of night. It was pretty common in Musutafu.

There were so many pros back in Musutafu--endlessly competing neck and neck for the spotlight-- whilst no one ever really had the balls to patrol around this time of night, let alone in Hasu city of all places. There were many incredibly powerful pro heroes out there, but even they feared the existence of monsters. And with so many innocents going missing--pros included--he couldn't spot one other person for the life of him.

It's been a good three months now since Keigos' encounter with Harushimi, an extremely dangerous arachnid with quite the uncanny obsession with, well; him. To say he wasn't at least a little disturbed with the way they left off would be a lie, but he couldn't just up and quit patrol because some thirsty monster was probably stalking him. By now, Keigo is officially working undercover with the league. He didn't exactly have much of a choice. His agent wouldn't let him hear the end of it if he said no.

The idea of a pro hero-- especially one of his stature--being violated by a monster such as her was insanely hard to believe, and just all too surreal to him in general. He wanted nothing more than to forget it ever happened, but that wicked look in her eyes became much too hard to forget. If any monster could switch personalities like that, they could threaten mankind as we knew it. Although, his life was spared; not many people meet an end as lucky as he had. He didn't know for sure if the next time they met he'd survive, nor did he think it would happen so suddenly.

It was almost one in the morning in Hasu city, and although the streets were almost desolate they were alive with lights and grumbling engines. It wasn't exactly bumper-to-bumper traffic, but there were still some daring folks out there. Then that was just how Hasu city was; while at this time in Musutafu everyone would have their doors and windows shut and locked, here not as many people gave a crap.

Maybe it was the fact that this place bubbled with criminal activity, or that there were just as many monsters lingering in the shadows as there were villains in this general area, but when it came down to it no one in Hasu city really feared the monsters as much as they probably should have; well aside from the pros who've faced off with them.

The government has done all it could to adapt alongside monsters peacefully so long as it deemed fit, but this 'Monster king' wasn't easy to please, and his demands had their own civilization in shambles. Keigo couldn't help but breathe through his nostrils as he peered up at the massive TV in the middle of town; more specifically the news as it spoke of alleged 'Monster trafficking' all across the continent.

Previously, any humans caught illegally transporting monsters without the proper paperwork were leaning into about six to seven years prison time. Alas, with monsters now allowed to roam freely, without an escort; threats were spiraling, and sooner or later became the other way around.

Keigo gave yet another tired sigh, deciding he'd give the city one final sweep before ending his route for the evening. That was until he saw something unusually familiar slip into the thin alleyway between a tower, and a sea of apartments.

The buildings were like legos; blocky, and complicated to get through. As the buildings narrowed, it became a mess to maneuver--his speed only seemed to accelerate with his concentration. Clearly whatever was struggling to evade his detection hadn't anticipated his ability to fly through insanely thin crevices, but was oblivious to just who it really was. The fact that even his actions were a result of her manipulation didn't exactly dawn on him quite yet.

Unfortunately in his steadily increasing speed, he failed to notice the strand of silk that suddenly latched onto his foot. He was almost completely halted when he felt that iron silk yank at his right foot.
