"What is it...?" I ask, the concern clearly evident in my voice.

"Well, I'm supposed to be back at Camp Hyphos before sunrise of the 7th. I need to get there before it isn't safe anymore....."

"Camp what...?"

"Camp Hyphos. It's for...well, I can't exactly tell you. I would have been able to fly there, but....my wing is broken from the encounter from that Wyphae. Those things are dangerous, especially the one I just fought. He's been tracking me for days.."

He pauses for a moment and then stands up.

"You should come with me...it's not safe here..."

"But I can't just leave! My parents will freak out!"

"Have strange things been happening to you lately...? Things you can't explain?"

I think for a moment. He is right...normal people can't talk to birds.

"Yeah...."

"Well, that monster you just saw...more will be coming. If you don't come with me you might be killed by another...Please...."

I can hear the genuineness in his voice.

"Why do u care so much if I live anyway?"

"I don't like to see people die...Especially beautiful girls such as your self..."

I blush at the comment.

I have been seeing weird things lately. It sounds like he's telling the truth. If another monster like that comes, I am done for. I honestly have nothing to lose.

"Fine....let me just pack my things. I need to bring them If I'm going somewhere."

"We are in Pennsylvania, right?"

"Yeah."

" The camp is in Philly, so It will take a lot of traveling. It would be best if you take a smaller bag."

30 minutes later of packing and I'm ready.

"Ok, I'm ready."

We start walking southeast. It's june, so it's really hot. By the next hour we are drenched in sweat. I am forced to take as many clothes off as I possible can without not having any clothes on at all. We pass a stream and wash up a bit and cool off. Geoffrey takes the time to leisurely roll in the mud.

After 15 minutes Matt finally persuades a reluctant Geoffrey to get out and start walking.

"Fine...." He doesn't look to happy about it.

For most of the day we just walk.

Sometimes we had to go through the woods, but we mostly walked on the by the road.

We keep walking until its to dark to walk. Then we eat turkey sandwiches that he had purchased earlier that day at subway. We talked about each other most of the way, but we were so tired that we eat an almost silent dinner. He sets up my sleeping bag and then sets up his.

He stays up to watch just in case any monsters come out.

"I'll let Geoffrey take the morning watch" he says.

I watch the beautiful stars and think about what happened all day. Strange day its been...flying pigs....hot angel boys....dragon wolves... As I am extremely exhausted from all that walking I soon slip into a deep sleep.
