Christine's POV

Ever since I've gotten back, things have been going great. I've become accustomed to this new lifestyle, and I'm happy with my beautiful family. I'm recovering quite nicely and everything is running smoothly. Erik is the best man a woman could ask for. He treats me and Gwen so well. I know this is where I belong.

There are still some issues, however. For one, no one has found Meg. It's been almost six months since I was shot. I'm worried for her safety and well being. I don't blame her for that shot. I just do wish she knew that so she could be safe at home, and with me. I refuse to believe she's dead like some people have been saying. Those are just stupid rumors. She's still alive and out there... She has to be.

Another issue is Raoul. Gwen was supposed to be able to go to Paris and spend time with him for a month. But ever since I've returned, Erik doesn't want her to go over there, and Raoul doesn't want her to come. I fear that he's begun drinking again. My poor daughter is having to go through all this. I just can't believe Raoul wouldn't want her to come anymore. He promised Gwen he would change, and now this happens. It's unforgivable. I let out a frustrated growl just at the thought of it.

"My dear, are you alright?" Erik asks. I look up at him. We are sitting in the library, and Erik is reading while I think.

"Fine." I reply. He lets out a short laugh.

"Angel, I know you better than that, what's really wrong?" He sets his book down, giving me his full attention.

"It's just... I can't believe Raoul." Erik's jaw clenched and I cross my arms. "He promised Gwen he would change and now he's letting her down. It makes me so frustrated."

"Angel you need to relax. He's out of our lives now. Gwen has a proper father now... or at least... I'm trying." He lets out a sigh "I just want to be there for her, but she's a lot like you in a sense that she's independent, and she's a lot like me in a sense that she's closed off. It's just so hard to get through to her." He sits back and has a look of defeat on his face.

"Oh darling you're doing an amazing job. You're a wonderful father! Just give Gwen her space. I know she loves you, it's just that things are so messed up right now." I give him an encouraging smile.

"Thank you angel." He smiles back at me. "And if its worth anything, I think you're an amazing mother." I blush and look down.

"Thank you Erik." I can't help but smile up at him.

"Christine?"

"Yes Erik?"

"You're almost recovered, am I right?" He looks down to where the stitches are in my stomach.

"Yes, I'll be good as new in no more than a month." I reply.

"Good." He says. He sits back and I pick up a book and begin to read.

"Christine?" He asks again.

"Hmm?" I ask, not looking up from the book.

"Marry me."
