Raoul's POV
My daughter just looked at me blankly. "Sweetie I think I should tell you who he really is and why he wants your mother here." I say. Gwen is very smart, and I can see that she is jumping to conclusions. I'm just about to start in on my story when there's a frantic knock on the door. "Hold that thought." I say as I walk to the door. I open it to find a furious Meg. What is she doing here? "Ms. Giry?" I ask, still surprised.
"We need to talk." She says through clenched teeth.
I turn to Gwen "I'll be back in a moment." She nods and I walk into the hall and shut the door. "What's going on?" I ask suspiciously.
"Do you know why you're really here?" She asks.
"I just found out who mister Y really is." I say, still upset that this was kept from me. "Gwen was drawing his mask and I put the pieces together." She looked outraged when I said Gwen.
"That's not even the worst part!" She practically screams at me. "I overheard Christine and Erik talking about Gwen."
"Why would they be talking about my daughter?" I ask, clearly confused.
"You really haven't guessed?!" Her voice was shrill. "She isn't yours!" She yells.
"W-what do you mean..."
"That child is Erik's!" She says, fuming with rage.
"You lie!" I say becoming angry at this outburst.
"I speak the truth! Tell me, how do you explain the scars running down her neck?!" She demands.
"Scars?... my daughter has scars?" I ask.
"So Christine is good at hiding things. Had she also hidden the fact that Gwen taught herself how to play piano?" She has a smug smile plastered on her face. "How do you explain those eyes? The mental disability, and the darkness she speaks of." This was all to much.
"I-I can't believe it." I shake my head. "This is all my fault... if only I was a better husband..." I trial off.
"Look, I didn't come to make you feel bad. I came to ask for your help." I look up at her curiously. "I'm in love with Erik." She states. Why do women love that spawn of hell? I nod slowly. "You obviously want to keep your little family together." I nod again. "So, we need to find a way to keep Erik and Christine away from each other, then we can both take what we want."
"Meg Giry you are a genius." I say with a wicked grin. "In fact, I was just about to tell my precious Gwen about the strange affair of the phantom of the opera. She'll be so scared of him that it will crush him, and when he needs comfort you'll be there. Christine wouldn't bare to lose Gwen, so when she insists on staying with me, Christine will surly follow." I say wickedly.
"It's all to perfect." she says, "but gwen isn't really yours. "
"No. she is mine. He wasn't there for her for 13 years through all of her struggles. Sure, I wasn't around much but at least I was actually there!" I shout. "Now, let's go tell my daughter who Erik really is."
Gwen's POV
I sit wide eyed staring at my father and mothers friend. They had just told me the most horrible story. Erik had kidnapped my mom, forced her to sing for him, and worst of all.. he murdered people! He almost killed my father! He also tried to force my mom to marry him! My poor father tried to save her only to be nearly killed by that.. That monster. They just looked at me sympathetically. I began to sob uncontrollably, and pushed my father away when he tried to comfort me. I got up and ran out the door despite their calls for me to return.
