I'm switching point of view for this chapter.
Regina's POVI haven't talked to one person all day, excluding the times where I told someone to shut up or don't talk to me. Robin has been asking me the same three questions all day, I felt bad for not answering but I really didn't want to talk to anyone, not even him.
He's asked me what was wrong about 58 times, he asked if I was okay about 900 times, and he asked if he was the reason I didn't want to talk about 24 times. I couldn't take it anymore, so I walked out of school by myself. That of course didn't last long though, I was accompanied by Emma before I even made it to the sidewalk.
"Hey."
"Hey?"
"You okay? What happened?"
Why couldn't everyone just stop asking those questions, and by everyone I mean Robin and Emma. Those were the only two who actually cared. It was actually pretty shocking that Emma cared about me.
"You know, Swan, just because I told you my secret doesn't mean you have to be my friend."
She just kept following me.
"I know. I want to be your friend."
Shocking.
"Why?"
Before she could answer, my mom came running at me from the car. Oh. Great. This is definitely what I need after a hard day.
I never really thought I looked much like my mom, she was strong and beautiful, and I'm just, well me. She had long brown hair like my own, but while mine was almost black hers was a chestnut color. She was wearing a black work suit and her lips were red as blood.
"Regina!" She looked angry.
I tried to walk away but it was too late.
"This might be a good time for you to go." I whispered to Emma.
She didn't move.
"What mother?" I tried to say as nasty as I possibly could.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Leaving school? That's what you do at the end of the day." I threw all my sarcasm at her, but she didn't look the least bit phased.
"Why are you at school? I know Regina, I know."
My heart dropped. I couldn't breathe. This was not happening, not now, not here.
"W-what?" I asked nervously, all my confidence shattered.
"Come on, say goodbye to your friends, your not coming back."
I couldn't move. All I could hear was the sound of my own heart pounding out of my chest.
"No." I heard Emma say to my mother.
No.
"What did you say?" My mother snapped at Emma.
"She's not leaving." Emma protested.
My mother looked amused.
"And who do you think you are that you can control my daughter?"
I noticed that Mary Margaret, Ruby, and Robin were watching us.
"I'm her friend, and friends stick up for each other."
I snapped out of my reverie and joined their conversation.
"We're friends?" I said quietly so only Emma could hear.
Emma's answer got cut off my my mother's voice aka glass breaking."You have no right to say these things. Come on Regina." she barked.
Emma couldn't do anything now, my mom practically dragged me to the car.
She mouthed the words "I'm sorry," and watched me sympathetically as I drove away from the place where I was actually beginning to feel loved.
