Emma's POV
I stood over the hospital bed with Gold, my parents, and Henry restlessly waiting for Regina to wake up.
After she passed out, I remembered everything about Storybrooke High and how I got there.
It all started the day after I ruined Regina's life by bringing back her boyfriend's dead wife.
I remember waking up normal, and I remember Henry telling me he was going to my parent's house. I woke up and walked downstairs to find Killian waiting downstairs to tell me something, but before he could we heard a loud thud downstairs. He told me to stay put and he was going to check it, but I didn't listen and went down with him anyways.
The second we got down, we knew something was wrong. There was shimmering, like the shimmering of a Portal that you could only barely see. It was odd though because you could still see the other side of the room, and on the other side was Henry on the ground pleading for help. Of course I had to go help him and I ran straight into the portal since it was between us. I never made it to the other side of the room. I was transported to another dimension, just like someone rewrote our entire lives. I didn't remember anything, but soon enough, me and the people around me started to have visions of what our lives really are. Whoever created this magic trap and put me through must've known it failed because I'm back to where I was this morning in real life, or in Storybrooke what was a year ago. But I knew it wasn't really a year. It felt like a year in the other dimension, but the second I regained my memories, I knew it was only this morning when I fell through the portal.Whoever tried to do this magic failed, which despite what Regina says, she didn't curse me she saved me. Now because she saved me she has to pay the price.
She probably hates me, but she saved me, and even though it was unintentionally in her sleep, now it was my turn to save her.
The next day
I was awoken by the sound of my phone in the middle of the night and began to panic.
Regina.
It was Dr.Whale on the phone.
My heart was pounding.
He said I should get to the hospital immediately.
Here I was, racing down the street at 2 am in my yellow beetle, hoping that the woman who probably hated me was okay.
I ran through the doors, not even bothering to acknowledge my parents.
I expected Regina to be out, her heart race slowing as the life drained out of her, but it was the opposite.
She was sitting straight up on the bed, her heart racing and her breath heavy.
"Emma.." She breathed out.
She was pale and didn't look like the Regina I knew.
"What is it Regina?" I was shaking, but not more than she was.
"I..know who's behind all this.."
"Who?" I was dying to know.
"..H-henry..Henry did it. All of it."
I couldn't believe the words I was hearing.
Henry? No, it couldn't be right, she was probably all drugged up and didn't know what she was saying. But that look in her eyes, she looked so sure of herself."Henry? Our son Henry?"
"Yes. It was an accident. Talk to him if you don't believe me."
I found Henry downstairs in the hospital lobby next to my parents who were trying to comfort him. The second he saw me, he shot up like a rocket and threw his arms around my waist.
His voice was shaky, but unlike Regina's.
"Mom, I'm so so sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."He started to cry.
"I don't want her to die, mom."
I hugged him tighter.
"I don't either, kid." That was all it took for me to realize that I too was crying.
We sat down for a while without speaking, it wasn't really the best time for having casual conversations.
After a while, though, I had to ask about what happened.
"Henry, how did all this happen?"
He was silent for a moment before he spoke.
"I found this bottle of ink, it was in Rumple- my grandpa's shop. He told me it was used for writing stories. I decided to write, I wrote about all of you guys being my age, and going to school here. I had no idea it was magic ink."
It was starting to make sense to me now. I let him continue.
"A portal opened where I was writing. I tried touch it but I got pushed back against the wall and watched my mom, my grandparents, and everyone who I wrote in the story get sucked into the portal. And by the way, the baby that um.. my mom had, I didn't write that. I had some help actually."
I spoke up. Still some things weren't adding up.
"What about the ending? And why did you write me into the coma?"
"I didn't write that part. Someone else did. I left my story and the ink unattended for awhile, and when I came back it was finished. It said exactly what happened. How the story took the longest time to wear off on you. When everyone else got out of the story, they returned to normal and lost their memory of it. It took longer to wear off on you and Jefferson."
"Why?"
"I don't know. That's just how the story was written when I got back."
"So, all of this was written down, even the part about Regina?"
He flinched at Regina's name.
"Yeah."
This wasn't good at all.
"What do we do?"He knew exactly what to do of course; he always knew what to do.
"We find whoever is writing this story before they cause anymore trouble."
I smiled.
"Another operation."
He returned a smile.
"Let's call it, hmm...operation..gecko!"
I laughed.
"Alright, let's go kid."
