Chapter 5

"Quit interrogating me," I snapped at Nick and Caleb.
Since we got to Caleb's, Nick and Caleb asked me a ton of questions nonstop. When did you get powers? Are you sure Acheron is your dad? Was your mom all human? Did she have powers too? What else can you do? What do you know about people with powers?

God I thought I was going to explode. Forget trying to help me, they were judging me. I never intentionally hurt anyone ever in my life.
I looked over to clock on the kitchen wall. It was only six, that was one more hour of them asking me more questions I don't know how to answer. How fun.

"We're not interrogating you, Dani," Caleb said to me, going to his fridge.

"Oh yeah then what is this," I said pointing to Nick who was pointing and lamp my direction.

Caleb pulled it out of his hand and moved it back over to the corner. "Stop it, Nick, she's obviously scared. You don't need her to freak  more."

"I'm not scared," I snapped back at him. People never made me scared when they asked me questions. Never.

"Then why is your heart beating so fast," he said handing me a soda.

I hadn't even noticed my heart was beating fast. "Because you're pissing me off. I didn't want to go anywhere today and here I am. It wasn't my plan for anyone to know about me. So answer me this; why am I like this and why did Nick obviously know something was up with me and knew to come to you? Tell me because y'all seem to know what to ask like you've been dealing with this on a daily basis."

They both were at a loss on words. They just looked at each other like they were talking to each other in their heads.

Ignoring the two, I walked over to the fridge to find something to eat. I grabbed some grapes, whip cream and some yogurt, and sat them on the counter. I went over to get a bowel from the cabinets. Even though I never been here it was like I knew where everything was at.

Shaking the thought off I went over to my chair and ate. Nick and Caleb still didn't say anything to me, then someone knocked on the door.

"Who's that," I asked with a mouthful of whip cream.

They both shrugged. Caleb looked over to Nick, "Is that, Kody?"

Nick gave him a drool stare. "Do you honestly think she'd use the front door. Cmon, Cay, this is, Kody, we're talking about."

Caleb rolled his eyes and went to go see who it was the door. The person kept pounding on the door 'til he reached the door. He open the  door a slight bit to see who it was, only for it to pushed all the way when he opened it. The force of it threw Caleb back and slammed the door into the wall.

Caleb let out a string of curses when he got up. "Get her and your ass up the stairs," Caleb yelled at Nick, who was now pulling me to go upstairs.

I wasn't moving, Caleb hit fell really hard and I just knew not to leave. I ran over to him but he pushed me back over to Nick.

A large man who looked like a biker came in glaring at Caleb. "Where is it Malphas," he snarled.

"I don't have it," Caleb said taking a step back, making Nick take several steps back pulling me with him.

"What," the man roared making the house shake.

Caleb gave him a smirk and said, "Funny, I didn't know, Cupid, threw temper tantrums."

"Don't test me boy. Just give me what I want and we won't have a problem," Cupid said between his teeth.

I could tell Caleb was getting uneasy, wait no scratch that he was heated and it looked like all he saw was red.
