Chapter 15

Now it was just Artemis and Acheron. And he was heated. Dani had caught him off guard when she popped in.

How'd she even get here? I was very clear with Simi that she couldn't be here.

Acheron had replayed every word Dani had said. Artemis wouldn't of set her up like that. She was heartless, but was she that heartless? She knew what Acheron went through as a kid. Setting Dani up to get raped would be cruelest thing Artemis could have done to both of them.

You see (*spoiler if you're reading the dark hunter series*) Acheron was sold as a sex slave as a kid, by his uncle. So he knew what it was like to be used and abused. Finding Dani in that alley, tore him apart on the inside.

First she loses her mother. Who in all honesty Acheron couldn't get out of his mind. Not because he liked her, but because things didn't add up. If she was part God and a powerful death demon, she was pretty much immortal. It would've took a chthonian, a really powerful god or demon to kill her. Which means either she really pissed off her parentals or she isn't really dead.

Second she gets into a fight with Kody, for gods know what. Acheron hadn't meant to shut his niece out, it's just a lot of thing going on. Plus him and his brother were going at it for some stupid reason. Then Dani got raped. And now she just met the one person Acheron wanted to keep her away from.

"Artemis," Acheron said in an eerily calm tone. "If what she said is true, you better be really grateful that I can't kill you without ending the world."

Artemis was scared now as she watched Acheron struggling to stay in one form. That only meant one thing. He. Was. Pissed. And now wasn't the time for games or anything.

Artemis let out a slow breath trying to control her breathing. "Yes. But I promise I never meant for her to get hurt like that."

His eyes turned deadly as he glared at her. "You never meant for her to get hurt? But yet you pulled her into a life she wasn't supposed to have." He shook his head at her not believing this. "Artemis, do you know what you've done! She's only sixteen!"

Tears were building up in her eyes now. "Look I'm sorry. I swear that I didn't mean for that to have happened. That, I didn't think would happen."

"How do I know you're not lying to me now? What aren't you getting through your head? Because obviously you don't know what not to do to a teen girl who can't control her powers."

Dani is unstable. Not only her emotions but her powers. If her emotions controls her that is no bueno. They almost took a hold of her in the ambulance.

Ananke is The Fate, of literally everything, including gods. Acheron is the final fate as well. Mix the two together, you get another fate that could change pretty much anyone's lives since she's of two pantheons. If Dani wanted to she could switch up something from a single sentence or word.

Which is why it's a good thing she knows better not to kill Artemis. With her blood she could do it and make it very painful.

Hell, might as well let her and be done with Artemis.

Artemis saw something in her eyes. She knew she was unstable, but wasn't for sure why. When Dani was talking to Artemis, her eyes changed from gray, to silver, to red, to black (and I mean all around).

"What do you want me to do, its done now and I can't fix it," Artemis said sobbing into her hands.

"If you dare mess with her again, she will plan your death," Acheron said coldly.

Coming from anyone else, she wouldn't of been afraid. Coming from him was official.
He was pissed and didn't know how he hadn't struck out yet. He still had 9 days left in her temple. Once Artemis says how long he stays, only she could let him leave. Also he needed to feed.
He just hoped by the time he returns Dani will be fine and won't be upset with him.
