Demon gramps was actually really cool. Like you'd think he wouldn't given as how mean they made him seem. He told me, he raised my mom till she was five, then gave her to her adoptive parents. He couldn't keep her away from danger 24/7.

Simi wasn't liking this, but she was trying to not be overly protective of me. Caleb kept to his wall observing from a distance.

Thamistis and I talked for awhile in the living room and he showed me a few tricks. The first one was controlling fire, so that they wouldn't be little, but not uncontrollably. The next one was how to flash myself in and out of places. I got it on my third try, even though it took longer than I expected. The last trick was controlling the demon in me.

Apparently it feeds off of my anger and frustration. The trick wasn't to let my anger out, it was seeing into the reason behind it. If I saw why I was angry instead of letting it get to me, I could control it.

After we talked about that we sat there for a few minutes in silence.

"Can I ask you for a favor," I said quietly.

He looked over to me with a warm smile. "Depends on the favor." I was about to say it, but he cut me off. "Let me guess, you want me to untie that boy. Right?" I nodded. He let out a sigh and got up. "Okay. Quick question, what's your name. I never got it."

"It's, Danielle, but I think you mean the other one," I said looking at my hands.

"I already know, the other name. Your mother always talked about naming you, Anastasia. Just don't tell anyone the nickname she gave you." I started to ask why, but his eyes turned the deadly black again. "Don't. Am I clear."

I nodded to him quickly and he left out to get Caleb. He came back in pulling him by one arm. Thamistis pulled out a small pocket knife, holding it next to Caleb's face. For a second I thought he was going to cut his throat, but he slid the knife down cutting the gag off. Then he cut the binds off.

Caleb's wrist were an awful purple with nasty open wounds on them. Some off the shards were still lodged into his wrist. Why didn't I listen when he said to not touch him? I felt bad, but I was only trying to help.

"Well there you go," Thamistis said, putting his knife away. "I should be going. I've already wasted too much time, but we'll meet again," he said then left.

"I have a question, what exactly are you and do you have anything I can eat," Caleb asked.

I gestured him to follow me, making our way to the kitchen. We walked around the corner hearing food being tossed around. I peeked around the corner cautiously to see Simi going through the fridge.

"Simi, what the heck," I said standing by the door.

Caleb came up behind me trying to hide his laugh. Simi came out the fridge smiling at me with a bag of Lays between her teeth, holding ketchup, barbecue sauce, ranch, bananas, steak and popcorn in her arms.

I turned around to look at Caleb, shaking my head. During our time walking here he changed into fresh clothes. Jeans and a gray tee.

"Well in all honesty, I haven't been here long to know what we actually have in the fridge. But I'm for sure we have Lays, steak, popcorn... oh and bananas, if you want that," I said. Then I thought about it for a minute. "Hmm. I think we have enough food to make a sandwich. Hey, Simi," I called out. "What food do we have?"

She took a break from eating her barbecue covered popcorn. She looked at me, then the fridge, then the pantry.

"We have lots of cereals, mashed moo moos, chips, ding dongs, all types of fruits and veggies, pastas and chopped up chickies."
