Trigger Warning: ...

Scott gripped Rel's hand tightly pulling them up. When they got to a certain point, Rel grabbed the rock and started to climb up the short way to the top. Scott scurried up the side of the mountain, he looked experienced, like he had done this many times before.

Rel collapsed on the edge of the cliff breathing heavily. Scott sat next to them curiously. Rel noticed that he looked quite different from the last time they had met. He was a lot less dressed up, his hair was messy and he wore dirty clothing that looked like that of a commoner. The young elf sat up and brushed their hair out of their eyes.

"Xxornoth" they said quietly, before looking around in panic. They jumped up from their spot on the ground, swaying slightly from lightheadedness. It had been a very long time since Rel had been up this high and they were just saved from falling to their death. Nonetheless, they stumbled into the tree line collapsing behind a near bush. They sat, their back against a tree their eyes closed. They looked at their hands. They were cut and bruised, dirt and sweat covered them, making them seem weirdly brown and shiny. They wiped them on their tunic, only to find that a lot of the shiny ness was actually from blood.

.:():.

Scott looked in curiosity at the elf sitting in front of him. They seemed much worse for ware than when he had last seen them. He watched as they collapsed on the ground, breathing heavily. Their hands were cut and bruised, their hair and face were covered in dirt and their feet were bare. They looked very different from the cool and confident Rel that Scott had met at the ravine.

Rel sat up sighing before suddenly looking panicked. They muttered something that sounded kind of like 'X-loaf' or something like that. They looked all around them before shooting up onto their feet. They stumbled slightly with their hands clutched to their head. After-climb Vertigo, Scott thought, watching as Rel stumbled into the woods. Scott was confused and decided to follow. He stood up, used to the having the vertigo affect him.

Flashback

Scott stood below the cliff looking up. This was his final climbing exam. All of the kids learned how to rock climb. This was mostly so that if they fell in a hole or rolled down a cliff they would be able to get out. Scott was learning how to climb, however, so that he would know what to do if he ever had to traverse rocky terrain to visit the other empires.

Scott lept at the rock after a signal from his instructor. He grabbed on a rock that was about 5 feet off the ground, pulling himself up with one hand before catching a hold with his foot. He used the leverage points to punch himself far enough to grab a dent in the rocks with his left hand. This continued and before long he had made it to the top of the cliff, in record time.

End of Flashback

Scott walked into the shade of the trees, glancing around before seeing Rel sat against a tree, their beautiful green eyes looking down at their hands. Scott sat in front of them.

"So are you going to tell me why you're here?" Scott said leaning back on his hands, with legs crossed in front of him. Rel looked up after wiping their hands on their tunic.

"Hm...?"

"Are you going to tell me why you are in my empire? Clinging to the side of the cliff?" Rel sighed.

"I need to talk to you about Xxornoth" Scott looked at them with a confused look.

"Who is Xxornoth?" Rel suddenly looked very scared,

"The one that took me away..." They said softly before saying "I can't tell you here, do you have somewhere we can talk where we won't be overheard?" Scott looked worried, why would they not want to be overheard.

"I can take you back to my palace?" Scott gestures towards where he had tied up the horse he had used to get to the cliff. Rel nodded before standing up, using the tree as support. Scott offered his arm, Rel gladly held onto his shoulder for balance as the duo made their way through the woods, walking into a glade. In the glad stood a large brown and grey mottled stallion. He looked up as Scott walked up to it, Rel still holding on to his shoulder.

Scott helped Rel balance, once they had mounted the horse. After Rel was secure on the horse, Scott swung himself up in front of Rel. They gripped his shoulders for balance as the horse shifted under the weight. Scott took ahold of the reins clicking his heels into the stallion's side. The stallion set off at a canter through the woods until they made it back to the main road where Scott moved the horse into a gallop.

The wind whipped through Scott's hair. Rel gripped Scott's shoulders tightly as to not fall off. As the horse leapt over a log in the road Rel moved their arms down to Scott's waist before quickly realizing their mistake and moving them back to his shoulders. Rel could see Scott's face flush, and felt their own face heat up.

Rel could feel the cold wind on their face and focused on the back of Scott's head as to stop the world spinning. They noticed something a bit strange. There seemed to be, horns? sticking out of his head. They were golden in color and they seemed to shimmer in the sun, just as Rel notice that they were there, they were gone, nothing but light cyan hair blowing in the wind. They gripped Scott's shoulders tightly before resting their head on their hand, on Scott's shoulder. It would be a long trip...

AN: I am sorry for not updating very often. I have been trying to figure out how to connect this, kind of, backstory into the main lore of the SMP. Thank you to @TheBookWormskyefox for being the first one to comment on my book! I do like to take inspiration from some of my favorite books/series. I will never completely copy an idea, however, without giving credit.
