Movie Night - Yaku - ❤️

A quick bit of setup bc I'm too lazy to figure out how to tell you what's going on. So you manage for the Nekoma team and you all are having a backyard movie at Kuroo's house.

"Hey everyone!" You call as you come through the gate.

"Hi Y/N!" Lev cheerfully calls to you, running over.

"Hiya," You grin as he bends down for you to ruffle his hair.

"Oi! Leave her alone you freak!" Yaku yells, coming up from behind you.

"Hello to you too, Yaku!" You tease, mentally yelling to stay cool.

"Hey, Y/N," he returns the greeting.

"Is everyone here? Great." Kuroo decides, not even checking to see who's actually arrived.

"What are we even watching...?" You ask Yaku as you walk over to the various chairs arranged in front of a white sheet that would serve as the movie screen.

"Not sure... guess we'll find out."

"Guess so..."

The movie was started and while a few beginning credits rolled through, Kuroo somehow managed to start a fire in a firepit.

"Good job, Rooster." You tell him.

"That's Mr. Rooster to you!" He calls proudly.

A glance around told you the team had already claimed all the chairs. With a shrug you sit on the ground in between the fire pit and Yaku's chair.

"You can come up here if you want," Yaku offers. "You don't have to sit in the dirt."

"No, I'm fine!" You assure him, staring at the flames.

"Alright... what are you looking at? Staring's kinda weird y'know..."

"The fire... I wanna touch it..."

"Oh god no." He leans forward and tugs you a little farther from it and right in front of him, keeping his hand on your shoulder to make sure you don't move back towards the fire.

You stayed like that for a while until Lev decided he needed your attention.

"Are you guys dating or something?" Kuroo teases.

"No, he is my son I am adopting him now." You decide, walking back to sit next to the fire.

Yaku kept an eye on you to make sure you didn't do anything stupid but kept quiet.

Until someone was poking at the flames with a stick and an ember landed on your leg.

Everyone stared in silence, unsure of what to do. It didn't live very long and you quickly brushed it off.

It was now that Yaku stood up and pulled you up as well.

"Um-?" You start to ask but he interrupts.

"Your sitting with me. A safe distance away from the fire."

"But I'm gonna get cold!" You complain.

"Then I'll cuddle you." He says pulling you into the chair with him.

You didn't say anything, quite happy to snuggle into your crush's side.

You stayed like that for the rest of the movie, almost falling asleep at some point. You'd flinch at unexpected loud noises and he'd hold onto you tighter until he decided you were alright.

Eventually, as all things do, the movie ended. You reluctantly stood up, "Alright, that was fun. We should do it again!"

"How are you so enthusiastic this late...?" Kenma quietly questions.

You shrug, "Not sure, but I better start heading home. See ya tomorrow!"

"Wait are you walking?" Yaku asks with a frown.

"Um... yes? I don't live that far away..."

"I'll walk with you."

"No, you don't have to! I'll be alright!"

"Do you not want me around?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.

"I- uh- well-" You stammer.

"I don't hear a no so let's go." He grabs your wrist and drags you along.

"Wrong way..."

He turns and heads the other way.

"There you go," you murmur, following him into the night.
