- well, did you bring the cake? - hayden said, making me extremely confused.

- LIAM! - she interrupted me, yelling.

i kissed her cheek and left to buy a lemon cake, our favorite.

i was bored when i thought about hayden. is she busy? honestly, i hope not. i decided to call her.

- hayden? - i said when she picked up.

- theo?? OH MY GOD! IT'S BEEN SO LONG! how are you doing??

- fine, as far as possible. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

- thank you so much!! you have no idea how much this means to me.

- i wanted to tell you i'm in town, since last night.

- REALLY???

- yes. - i laughed. - how about we meet?

- SURE! i miss you so much!

- calm down! - i laughed noticing her excitement. - where?

- do you wanna come over? our address is still the same.

it does not surprise me, they live in that house since forever, i don't think they'll ever move out.

- he left to buy our birthday cake, he forgot to do it before, as usual.

i feel relieved. i guess i'm not ready to see him again after all this time, even though i miss him so much.

a few minutes after our talk, the blue-eyed boy rings the bell and i open the door.

- THEOO - i smile and hug him. i never missed someone that much before. he seems almost as thrilled as me, and his hug is tight and comforting, exactly as i remembered.

- hay, you have no idea how much i missed you. happy birthday!

- come on in! - i pull him inside and close the door.

it's easy to notice raeken taking a look at home, checking every inch of the place.

- wow, everything looks the exact same, it's almost like i... never left.

- let's talk about something else - i say trying to cheer him up. - where did you go, again?

theo runs and hides in the first spot he finds: the closet.
