Amaterasu Akiko P.O.V.

I usually hate these balls and events of Yakuza bosses or families that grandfather and Ichiro make me go to. As I'm not married yet, they make me dress up real pretty hoping I finally find or accept a suitor. Instead I only get annoyed and chased by Yakuza sons and employees. Though this time I don't mind dressing up real pretty since it's in honor of my 27th birthday. Ichiro rented the biggest, most beautiful ballroom of the most expensive hotel in Tokyo.  They've invited so many people, half of them I don't even know. I saw some celebrities out there so they probably owe Ichiro money. I made them invite Mitsuya too since he designed and made this gorgeous, long, golden silk dress. It's a strapless, has a slight train and of course, curve hugging. I smile at him brightly as he saves me from another annoying Yakuza son. "Happy birthday Kiko-chan" he says, placing his hand on my waist after I pulled him onto the dance floor for a slow dance. "Thank you" I say smiling as I put a hand on his shoulder, and take his hand with the other. "I saw a lot of scary people in here" Mitsuya says. "Sorry about that. My father tends to go all out when it's about my birthday" I say. "I think I saw Mikey too.." Mitsuya says softly. "That's possible.." I answer. As we slowly turn, following the music my eyes fall onto Mikey. He's with Haitani Ran, Rindo and Sanzu Haruchiyo. "Have you talked to him yet?" I ask softly. "Not yet" Mitsuya says. "I think you should. He'll be happy to see you again" I say. "Hm you think so?" Mitsuya asks. "He was happy to see me after all these years" I say. Mitsuya chuckles and looks at me. "He always had a soft spot for you, Kiko-chan" he says. "He had an even bigger soft spot for his friends. Remember how he asked me to forgive Kazutora for everything he did to me?" I say and feel a sadness in my heart. "For what he did to Baji" I whisper. Mitsuya seems sad as well. "It's wat Baji would have wanted, Kiko-chan" Mitsuya says softly. "Even if he would've asked me, I would've told him no" I say. "Is that why you left?" Mitsuya asks. "I didn't make that decision" I sigh.

What's even worse than being chased by these guys is that I have to be polite and proper to them. "Excuse me" Ran says, interrupting one of these Yakuza sons. "Can I steal hime-sama for a dance?" Ran says. "Yes please" I say, before the guy says no and accept Rans hand, who immediately takes me to the dance floor. "Thank you" I say softly as Ran places his free hand on my lower back as he pulls me into the dance. "It looked like you needed saving" Ran says as I put my hand on his shoulder. "I did. Otosama and Ojiisama always hope I'll find a husband at these kinds events. They don't realize that because of that I'm just being bothered by men" I say. "It can't be that hard for you to find a husband, you're a very beautiful woman" Ran says. "I have very high standards" I say amused. Ran chuckles. "You look beautiful, Kawaiikou" Ran says softly. I smile because of the nickname from all those years ago. "Thank you. But can you really still call me Kawaiikou?" I ask. "Maybe I should change it to Utsukushī" Ran says, making me chuckle. "You could just call me by my name" I say amused but Ran doesn't respond. "Are you married?" I ask after we danced in silence for a while. "Hmm I'm not, why? Are you trying to make me your husband?" Ran asks teasingly. I chuckle. "As if you'd mind" I say amused. "I didn't ask it for that reason. I was just curious. We haven't seen or spoken for years" I say. "I was just teasing" Ran says grinning. "Oh I know" I say. "Besides, Mikey would kill me in cold blood if I'd marry you" Ran says. I click my tongue disapproving. "If I'd wanted to marry you, it's none of Mikey-kuns business" I say. "Plus you would be coming over to my business" I add. "Oh?" Ran asks, looking at me with his eyebrows slightly raised. "Yes, if I get married, I have to take a step back and my husband would take over" I say. "If that's the case I think I'll marry you, Kawaiikou" Ran says, making me laugh as he grins. When he twirls then dips me, I can feel and see my father, my grandfather and Mikey looking at me, though I'm more worried about the looks on my father and grandfathers face than Mikey's. "Thank you for this dance" Ran says as the song ends. "Hime-sama" he says with a wink before walking away from me.

When I finally find a moment to sit down, and rest my aching feet, my grandfather and Ichiro immediately sit down on either side of me. "Who was that guy you were dancing with?" Ichiro asks. "Which one?" I ask dryly. "I've danced with multiple people" I say, stretching my feet in my heels. "The one who dipped you" grandfather says. "His name is Haitani Ran. He's one of Mikey-kun's men" I say. "You seemed to have a good time" grandfather says and I immediately know what these two are up to. "He's fun to be around" I say. "Do you know him?" Ichiro asks. "I've met him years ago. I know him a little bit but not very good, why?" I ask, looking at both of them. "Oh no reason" grandfather says but I don't believe the innocence his playing. "Right" I say dryly. "Happy birthday, Kikochin" I look up at Mikey and smile at him. I was wondering when you would approach me. "Thank you" I say. "Would you dance with me as well?" Mikey asks offering his hand. "Of course" I say, taking it and allowing him to guide me to the dance floor. As soon as Mikey and I slowly dance on the music, I see Ichiro talking to Ran. You sly Fox. I lean my chin on my hand, that is resting on Mikey's shoulder. "Are you tired?" Mikey whispers. "I am." I whisper. "Aren't you used to walking on heels?" Mikey asks. "Walking and sitting yes, dancing the whole evening on heels is something I'll never get used to" I say, and Mikey chuckles. "Thank you for coming" I whisper after a long silence. "Thank you for inviting me" Mikey whispers, making me smile again. "Did Mitsuya design this dress again?" Mikey asks. "Yes, it's why I invited him" I say. "It looks good on you" he says. "Thank you. I like his work" I answer. "He seems to know what he's doing" Mikey says. "Did you ever have doubts about that?" I ask amused. "Not at all" Mikey says. "Did you talk to him?" I ask. "Briefly" Mikey says. I decide not to respond, he has to make his own decisions. "I didn't know what to get you" Mikey says softly. "You didn't have to get me a present" I say, a little surprised. "I bought you something. You'll know it's from me when you open it. I hope you like it" Mikey says softly and I smile again. "I probably will" I whisper.
