Tuesday
The tall student roamed through the halls, listening to only his own footsteps as his fingers grazed the yellow lockers beside him. He fiddled with the soft maroon scarf around his neck, humming the words of a song that had been stuck in his head all day. And.. Thinking. He was thinking of a dream he had. It wasn't like any others. It was hard to tell what is was exactly, but he didn't put too much thought into it. Just another odd dream that occurred for no reason. He finally shrugged it off as he saw a familiar purple haired student waving to him. "Morning, Luke!" He called. Luke waved back with a soft smile. "Good morning, Zander," Luke flipped his chestnut hair out of his face. "How'd you sleep?"
"Good," Zander nodded. "Despite my nightmare.."
"Nightmare? What was it about?" Luke asked as the two began their way to class.
"Okay, picture this.." Zander starts, waving his hands around as he explains. "It's opening night of our competition. We all head on stage after prepping our instruments backstage. Jake takes his place in front of the microphone. Sean starts up the beat, you, me, Hailey and Milly start with the background music, but Jake doesn't start singing. He coughs then starts late and sings horrendously, his voice cracking on every other note."
"..And?" Luke giggles. "That's it. Jake messing it all up. That's my nightmare," Zander said proudly. Luke laughed a bit, and Zander's cheeks flushed pink at his soft laughter. "Oh, here we are. We better head inside before we're marked absent," Luke said, stopping at the familiar classroom door. Zander nodded and the two walked inside of the classroom, taking their seats.
The whole lesson, Luke tuned out the teacher. He doodled in his notebook as she went on about the fall of the Roman Empire. He drew random OCs that he came up with off the top of his head, his drums surrounded by hearts, and random shapes and little tornadoes. As he drew he felt someone's eyes looking over his shoulder. Luke looked beside him but his desk partner, Sadie, was looking dead in front of her. He looked behind him slightly to see if the people behind him were looking. It turns out, one of them was. As Luke turned to face the two boys behind him his eyes met a gentle pair of hazel eyes looking over his shoulder. "Jake..?" Luke mumbled out. The blonde boy seemed to snap out of a trance when the latter said his name. Jake rubbed the back of his neck and gave an awkward smile. "H-Hey, Luke," He said awkwardly. "Sorry if I was bothering you, I just was really interested into what you were drawing."
Luke nodded and smiled "Well if you want to watch you can, I don't mind, I was just curious as to who was looking over my shoulder that's all." Luke turned around to his notepad and drowned out the world once more. Now he was much more comfortable with knowing who was watching him. He didn't mind when people watched him draw, as it happens a lot, but knowing who it is makes it a much more comfortable experience; especially when it's a friend or family member.
"Psst, Jake," Whispered the boy beside the blonde haired teen. "Yeah, Drew?" Jake said, turning to his desk partner. "Listen, I get that you're in the music club and all but do you really have to make small talk with those freaks during class?" Drew complained, rolling his eyes. "Hey, they're my friends too!" Jake spoke. "Besides, I like watching people draw and Luke just-so-happens to be drawing."
"Whatever," Drew rolled his eyes and turned his attention to the paper in front of him. Jake did the same but soon found himself looking over the shoulder of the chestnut haired boy in front of him. Luke had heard the exchange of words. He didn't like how Drew worded it and he didn't like how forceful he was being to his own friend. The tall teen wanted so badly to say something, but he couldn't in the middle of class. Besides. Everyone would probably get in the way and defend the rich boy anyway so there wasn't much of a point.
