Tuesday, After School

The young girl strolled down the hallway merrily with a bright smile on her face. She waved to passing peers she saw in the hallway as she continued on her way to her locker. Suddenly she felt the buzz of her phone in her pocket. She took the phone out and looked at the recent text;

Hi hon. Your mother and I are going out for the afternoon to watch your granddad's golf game. We may not be home until 10, so you're free until then. Don't do anything dangerous, okay? Stay safe, love you! <3 She smiled at the text and replied with a simple, Okay!

Now in a better mood, Daisy skipped down the corridors to her locker. Once reaching it, she punched in the code that was drilled into her memory and opened the squeaky door. Upon opening the locker, a pink note fell out from the top shelf. "Huh? What's this?" She said to herself, picking it off the ground quickly. She read the note out loud softly,

Hey Daisy! This is Jake. I was wondering if you could meet me in the garden after school? There's something I need cleared up and I need your help with it. Thank you so much!

Daisy smiled at the note and placed it in her pocket before closing the locker and making her way to the garden as her friend had asked.

Jake sat patiently on the fountain, fiddling his fingers as he waited for the white haired girl to appear. Finally, she did. He looked up to see Daisy standing in front of him with her hands behind her back. "Daisy! You came!" He smiled, standing up quickly. "Of course I did! What's the matter?" Daisy asked gently, taking Jake's cold hand in hers. "Well.." He rubbed the back of his neck. "You're a girl and I've always seen that girls give good dating advice in movies and stuff so-"

"Ooh, I see. Who is it? Hailey?"

"What? No- It's not Hailey. It's someone else but- I don't even know if it's love or just a little crush that'll brush over with time or something."

"Well I can't help you if I don't know who it is."

Jake rubbed his face and walked over to the bench in the shade. Daisy followed and took a seat next to him. The blonde boy put his face in his hands. "It's a guy. He's in the club. He-"

"Zander?"

"No, he-"

"Sean?"

"Daisy."

"Sorry."

"It's.. I-.. I like Luke. I-I think. I don't know if I do or not or if I just want him to be a friend or something but he's.. He's different." Jake confessed. "How different?" Daisy asked. "Well.. I opened up about my problems with Drew, Henry and Liam to him earlier, and he comforted me really well, and I-I think.." Jake raises his hands slightly. "Okay, this is going to sound really cheesy but, I swear I had a dream about him a couple nights ago. And normally I dream about y- I mean.. singing? But that night it was different. I don't know what triggered it, but something did and- I don't know. It's stupid, I know."

"Jake, it's not stupid. How do you feel around him? Like, do you feel happy? Warm and tingly inside? Do you get butterflies?"

Jake blinks a few times and nods slowly. "I think so.." He mutters.

"Okay, we're getting somewhere. Now, do you think of him constantly? Well, not constantly, but most of the time?"

"Kind of?"

"And what about that dream? What happened in it?"

"Well, I was just in this flower field and he showed up behind me and was talking to me about something but I didn't reply."

"Okay. How about this. When you see him, do you examine him? Like, do you look over all his different features?"

Jake nods hesitantly. Daisy claps her hands together. "Finally, do you want to hug him? Y'know, feel his arms around your body as he comforts you in a loving hug?"

"Do you read fanfiction?" Jake smirked. "Answer the question," Daisy giggled, pushing Jake playfully. "Okay, okay. But, yeah, I do."

Daisy stands up and takes Jake's hands in hers. "Jake y-" Jake stands up as well. "No, sit back down." She orders. Jake blinks and does as he's told. "Anyway. Jake, I hereby declare you as in love with Luke.. uh.."

"Peterson."

"With Luke Peterson. I'll start arranging the wedding." Jake turned bright pink and snatched his hands away. "Daisy!" He yelled, his voice cracking. Daisy giggled and messed with his hair. "Well, I better get going. I'll see you tomorrow Jake!" The aforementioned girl smiled as she skipped off.

The now alone boy stood up and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well.. That answers my question." He sighed and quickly made his way inside of the building.

---

The teen girl throws her bag around her shoulder and begins her walk out of school before she hears her name cutting through the air like a knife. "Hailey!" She heard. Hailey turned around to see Luke walking up to her with his hand up. "Can we talk?-" He asks. Hailey nods reluctantly before Luke grabs her arm and pulls her to the side of the school. "Excuse me?" Luke hushes her and looks around. "Luke, what the hell-"

"I'm in love." Luke confessed.

Hailey looked at him oddly and slowly starts backing up. "Not with you!" Luke yells. "But, I don't think I should tell you who yet. I just need advice on what to do."

"Okay, well, how often do you see them?"

"Everyday at school, but never on weekends. He- I mean.. They're in the club so, yeah."

Hailey smirks and places a hand on her hip. "What?" Luke asks. "Oh, nothing. Uh, how long have you liked them?" Hailey continues. Luke shrugs. "I don't know. It just, happened one day." The teal girl nods with a smirk and then says, "How long have you known them?"

"I don't know- But, it feels like forever that's for sure."

"Okay.. Do you-"

"How does this help with advice. I know I'm in love, Hailey, I just don't know what to do-!"

"Be yourself."

"What-?"

"Just be you. Your already perfect enough to win over anyone's heart."

Luke stared at her for a moment before smiling. "Okay. Thanks," He said. Hailey nodded before answering a sudden phone call from her step-mom. She waved goodbye and walked away. Luke walked over to a nearby tree and sat in front of it, taking a notebook out of his bookbag and scribbling in it. He didn't have to go home just yet. His parents are both at work for another half hour, so he had time. Maybe he could go talk to Jake? No, that would be stupid. He's probably already home by now.

Luke leaned back on the tree as a sigh escaped his lungs. He sat in silence for a moment before he had to go.
