Later, all of the first years are sorted in their houses, all of the students were talking to each other. McGonagall dinged on a cup.
"Your attention, please".
"Let the feast...begin" declared Dumbledore.
Food magically appeared on all the tables, and the hall was filled with awe and chatter.
"Wow" exclaimed Harry.
Ron stuffed his face.
"I'm half and half. Me dad's a Muggle. Mam's a witch. Bit of a nasty shock for him when he found out" said a Gryffindor first-year called Seamus Finnigan.
Neville laughed.
"Say, Percy, who's that teacher talking to Professor Quirrell" asked Harry.
"Oh, that's Professor Snape, head of Slytherin house" said Percy.
"What's he teach" asked Mary.
"Potions. But everyone knows it's the Dark Arts he fancies. He's been after Quirrell’s job for years" Percy explained.
Ron, having just finished a chicken wing, reached into the bowl for more, and a ghost, popped out.
"Ahh" said Ron.
"Hello! How are you? Welcome to Gryffindor" said the ghost.
Numerous ghosts came pouring from the walls, sailing along.
"Hello, Sir Nicholas. Have a nice summer" Percy asked the ghost.
"Dismal. Once again, my request to join the headless hunt has been denied" huffed sir Nicholas.
"I know you! You're Nearly Headless Nick" exclaimed Ron.
"I prefer Sir Nicholas if you don't mind" huffed sir Nicholas.
"Nearly headless? How can you be nearly headless" asked Hermione.
"Like this" said sir Nicholas as he grabbed head and pulled it to the side. His head was hanging on just by a thread.
"Ahh" said Ron.
Harry and Hermione looked grossed out, while Mary and Roxy exclaimed "Wicked".
Later, Percy lead the Gryffindors to the tower.
"This is the most direct path to the dormitories. Oh, and keep an eye on the staircases...they like to change" said Percy.
"Keep up, please, and follow me. Quickly now, come on. Come on" said Percy.
They began walking up the stairs, several of the portraits began greeting them.
A bit later on the seventh floor, They were in the corridor leading to Gryffindor Tower. They came up to a large painting of a large woman in a pink dress. She was known as "The Fat Lady".
"Password" asked the woman in the painting.
"Caput Draconis" said Percy. The Fat Lady smiled and nodded in confirmation. The painting opened up to reveal a doorway in the wall, leading to Gryffindor Tower.
"Follow me, everyone. Keep up, quickly, come on" said Percy
"Oh, wow" said Roxy.
"Gather 'round here. Welcome to the Gryffindor Common Room. Boy's dormitories, upstairs and down to your left. Girls, the same on your right. You'll find that your belongings have already been brought up" said Percy.
Later at midnight. Harry was sitting by a window in his pj's, with Hedwig. He petted Hedwig the owl and looked out the window, sighing with content, knowing that he will love it here at Hogwarts.
At the same time, Mary, Roxy and Hermione were all reading together in the girls dormitory, Music was running around their feet, Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil were doing each other's nails, then Mary picked up her guitar and started strumming country roads, Music scampered over and fell asleep on her bed.
"Can you teach me how to do that" Roxy asked.
"Sure, but just warning you, I've been playing since I was six" said Mary, and everyone was happy.
