Mary was now invisible, she and Harry figured the element of surprise would help them.
Harry and Mary walked down the stairs slowly. Halfway down, they winced, feeling their scars burning, and saw Professor Quirrell standing before the Mirror of Erised.
"You" asked Harry. Quirrell turned to face him.
"No. I-it can’t be. Snape, h-he was the one—-" Harry started but Quirrell cut him off.
"Yes. He does seem the type, doesn’t he? Next to him, who would suspect p-p-p-poor st-stuttering Professor Quirrell" scoffed the teacher.
"But-but that day, during the Quidditch match, Snape tried to kill us" said Harry
"No, dear boy. I tried to kill you and your disgrace of a brother" said Quirrell. Mary was frowning at Quirrell, trying to stop herself from punching him.
"And trust me, if Snape’s cloak hadn’t caught fire and broken my eye contact, I would have succeeded, even with Snape muttering his little countercurse" spat Quirrell.
"Snape was trying to save us" asked Harry confused.
"I knew you two were a danger to me right from the off. Especially after Halloween" said Quirrell
"Then-then you let the troll in" said Harry
"Very good, Potter, yes. Snape, unfortunately, wasn’t fooled. While everyone else was running about the dungeon, he went to the third floor to head me off. He, of course, never trusted me again" said Quirrell as he turned towards the mirror again; Harry winced as his scar burned again. Mary was thinking of a brilliant idea.
"He rarely left me alone. But he doesn’t understand. I’m never alone, never" Quirrell continued, staring into the mirror. "Now, what does this mirror do? I see what I desire. I see myself holding the stone. But how do I get it" asked Quirrell.
"Use the boy" said a rasping, Inhuman Voice.
Harry looked around, wondering where the voice was coming from.
"Come here, Potters. Now" ordered Quirrell. Harry slowly walked down the stairs, towards Quirrell and the mirror.
"Tell me... what do you see" asked Quirrell.
Harry looked into the mirror, and for a few seconds, sees him standing next to Quirrell, then his reflection reaches into its pocket and pulls out a gleaming red ruby, the Philosopher’s Stone. Then Mary's reflection appeared,  Harry stares in amazement as her reflection smiles and winks, then puts the stone back in her own pocket.
I've actually got it, tell them some ridiculous fib, I'm gonna run
Copied, don't forget about me
"What is it" asked Quirrell
"What do you see"
Harry looked at Quirrell, then back at the mirror, determined not to let Quirrell know that Mary had the Stone.
"I-I’m shaking hands with Dumbledore. I’ve won the House Cup" fibbed Harry
"He lies" said the voice.
"Tell the truth! What do you see" demanded Quirrell
"Let me speak to him" said the voice.
Harry backed away.
"Master, you are not strong enough" said Quirrell.
"I have strength enough for this" said the voice.
Quirrell reached up and started unwrapping his turban as he turned so his back was to the mirror. Harry turned toward the staircase into the room, wondering whether he should try to escape, then turned towards Quirrell again. He was almost finished unwrapping his turban, save for a piece covering the back of his head. Finally, he removed the turban, revealing a scary-looking chalk white face. He cranes around and opens his eyes, which were red.
"Harry Potter, we meet again" said the face.
"Voldemort" Harry realised. Mary stopped running, she couldn't leave her brother alone with the most feared dark wizard.
"Yes. You see what I’ve become? See what I must do to survive? Live off another, a mere parasite. Unicorn blood can sustain me, but it cannot give me a body of my own. But there is something that can, something that, conveniently enough, lies in your brother's pocket" said Voldemort.
Realizing Voldemort is referring to the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry turned and ran back up the stairs, Mary followed.
"I don't have a brother" said Harry as he ran.
