TIME does fly by when you're enjoying yourself.

It was already Sunday evening, and Miki was planning to leave the next day after breakfast. Since his confirmation text on Friday, it had been nothing but radio silence between her and Wooyoung.

Though she hated to admit it, she had found herself occasionally wondering what he was up to, alone in their spacious two-storey home.

She knew what she would have done: blasted some music, picked up another hobby, baked a random dessert she saw on YouTube etc. Miki couldn't see him doing any of those things.

Kath was in the bathroom when Miki's phone rang, vibrating next to her leg as she sat on the sofa.

The caller ID gave her a temporary mind-blank. 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴.

Taking a deep breath, she answered the call. "Hello?"

"Miki, hi. I was just wondering if I should water the hydrangeas."

She checked her watch, and smiled to herself. "And you're asking this at 11pm?"

She heard his deep chuckle, and it almost made her shiver. "Ah, really? I didn't notice."

On the other side of the line, Wooyoung was in bed, the book he tried so hard to focus on lying facedown on his lap.

He paused. "Are you enjoying yourself?"

"Yep! How have you been?" Miki replied. She was genuinely curious.

"Good." His low voice rumbled in her ear. "I guess I'm fine as well."

Kath emerged from the bathroom. She caught Miki's eyes, mouthing 'are you done?!'

Miki shook her head.

"About the hydrangeas: It's been pretty cold lately, so we don't need to water them as often. Once I get back, I'll water them again."

"Okay." Wooyoung was fiddling with a corner of one of the book pages. "So you'll be back tomorrow, yeah? To water them..."

He was acting so strange that she had to laugh, and to him it sounded like pure warmth had floated across the line into his ear.

"Since when did you care so much about the flowers?" Miki asked. "Yes, I'll be back tomorrow. To water them, maybe, but also because I live there. Did you forget?"

Wooyoung bit his lip to prevent a smile. "No," he breathed out. "Of course not."

"I'll see you tomorrow, then. Goodnight."

Miki ended the call, and was met with a knowing look from Kath. "What?" she asked.

Her best friend just smiled and shook her head.
