Chapter Six: The Race

We won the hockey competition! Mission accomplished! Wow I never knew that I was this competitive. Kendall, Carlos, and James got me all competetitive and now I can't make it stop. Haha oh well. Now we are going to do a race. Still the same girls against guys and now all the girls can participate in it.

I hope we don't end up tied again. Because then we will have to run again to see who wins. Any who, we are heading off to the track. We got to the track and we took our speakers and played music. The girls let us play our playlist and they enjoyed all of the songs.

We all stretched before running because we don't want to pull a muscle. So we all agreed on giving five laps and whoever finished first was the winner of this competition. Even though there was also second and third place but the winner is the one in first place. Everyone else just gets the exercise.

But five laps sounds like a piece of cake I'm good at running so this will be really easy to do. Bring it on! Geez there it is again. I'm so competitive. But let the race begin!

So the guys beat us at hockey but I guess it's fair because it's their game. They practice every single day. So now we are going to start a race. We are at the track stretching and we are listening to music. We all agreed on running five laps and there will be a first, second, and third place. Logan thinks that first place is the actual winner but in reality, second and third place are winners too, which shows that those three are the best runners.

So anyway we all got ready to run. We all chose a lane to stay on. There were 11 lanes which was perfect because we are eleven in total. The one who yelled, "On your marks, get ready, get set, GO" was Kendall.

Once he yelled go we all started running. We were all going at the same pace but by the second lap Logan, James, and Lucy were in the lead. By the third lap I was starting to get tired but I kept going. By the fourth lap Logan and James were still in the lead and Jo was in the lead too. By the fifth and last lap, we saw that Logan was still in the lead, Kendall was second, and Alondra was in third. once we finished the race, Logan was the first one to finish, Alondra came in second, and James came in third. Alexa came in fourth, I came in fifth, Lucy came in sixth, Naomi came in seventh, Jo came in eighth, Camille came in ninth, and Kendall and Carlos were the last ones.

So we had to choose a winner so they just did a little sprint from one end to the other. The one who went and came back first would be the winner. They began to run and Logan was in the lead and Alondra and James were starting to catch up. Hey all got there at the same time when they were coming back, they got really competitive especially Logan and Alondra.

The three of them were sweating a lot. Then when they were coming back Logan and Alondra were very competitive and James just started to slow down because he lost his energy. Logan and Alondra looked at each other and I didn't even know that they were hat competitive. At the end it was Alondra the first one to cross the line where we were standing They were super close though it was almost hard to say who won, but we all saw that it was Alondra. So Alondra was the winner and James just came and joined us.

"Wow you guys are really fast. Very competitive as well. I didn't know you guys were so competitive as well," I said. "Well Kendall, James, and Carlos...were the ones who got me all competitive since the hockey competition," Logan said in between breaths. "Here have some water," I told him handing him a water bottle. "Thanks Katie," he said. I also gave a water bottle to Alondra and James. They all thanked me. Then Alondra told me,"I've always been very competitive especially when it comes to running. Ever since I was in middle school in P.E. I would always get A's or B's and everyone would congratulate me. I had this friend that I would help out but no matter how much I tried to help she would tell me just go I can't keep running because she wasn't good at running and she would get C's every time," she said between breaths and then drinking some water.

"Oh okay that makes sense. And that's good that you got mostly A's and B's and that you helped your friend," I said smiling at her. "Yeah," she said returning the smile. Then Logan and her were looking at each other now. They were just staring at each other. I thought that they were mad at each other. Then they smiled at each other. Logan said, "Great job my love." Alondra told him, "Thanks great job to you too babe." They kissed and then we went off to go sit under a tree and we each ate an apple and we just lied down on the blankets we spread on the grass. Then we ended our day like that we just watched the sunset. Tomorrow is going to be a great day too full of competition.
