Maybe an angst??

Mikey and I planned to celebrate our third year anniversary.

As I knitted a cute sweater inspired by Toman's uniform, I sped up my pasting.

This weekend, I planned a cute little day date with Mikey in Shibuya.

Emma and Hina have both assisted me in preparing and planning the ideal activities, restaurants, and locations to visit on our date so that we can break away from our busy lives and spend quality time together.

Before I hear a chime from my phone, I swiftly finish sowing the last ends of the sweater.

I open the notification to see Mikey has casually cancelled our date the day before.

Any semblance of realism that I can muster vanishes. My breath becomes laboured, and a lump forms in my throat. My cheeks are flushed with heated tears the next thing I know.

I know it's selfish of me, but I was looking forward to date so we could spend quality time together as a couple.

Mikey has been so busy with the gang lately that we barely get to see other. I try to go to his home on a regular basis, but he is never there.

In the last few months, I've been content with simply preparing his meals and delivering them to his home.

Usually between 1-3 a.m., I'd have a tap on the door, and there was the lunchbox. It was completely cleaned and washed.

It sparked a hope that mikey and I would keep in touch, even if it was just for something like this.

The term "sparked" is crucial.

Someone else, not Mikey, was responsible for this, I discovered one day.

Someone else was doing it.

Reading over all of the short notes I place in the lunchbox,

He was eating the food I prepared for mikey,

And

To avoid being caught by me, he would take his time cleaning the lunchbox and returning it at 3 a.m.

I obviously probed him about why he did this and how he got his hands on it when I caught him.

He admits that whenever he returns to the sano manor, he always finds a freshly prepared bento sitting on top of the kitchen counter, untouched and unattended.

He chose to fill in for whoever the food was intended for, never seemed to mind.

It broke my heart to know that all of the effort, love, and time I put into cooking those for him had gone to waste, only to be eaten by another guy.

Shijisaki was the boy's name. He's a close relative of Mikey's who is now residing at Sano Manor for educational reasons.

Four hours have passed >>

My eyes have turned a bright red and swollen colour. The heavy pressure on my eyelids is tangible.

I've been crying for the past four hours and am now hungry and exhausted.

>> Dingdong <<

When my doorbell rings, I quickly wipe my away the tears and wash my face to hide any evidence of crying.

When I open the door, I am greeted with an awkward smile and a bento box in front of my face.

"What brings you here at this unusual hour, Shijisaki-san?"
