Chapter 21- Glaring red and hospital whites

Chris' / A's POV

I woke up to the feeling of a squishy texture touching my face and the sounds of giggles. I open my eyes to see my baby dressed in a baby blue gown, white socks that had flares and white shoes " Hi, how are you?" She smiled sitting on my bed.

" Why can't you talk like a normal 5 years old? Jumble your words or something." Elijah talks more baby-ish than she does.

" I'm smart and I have a competition."

How does she know the meaning of competition?

" Please, for the love of God talk like your age. Where did you learn 'competition' from?" She lost her childhood.

" I read," She says, confidence oozing out of her.

" Ain't you a little Sheldon Cooper." I ruffle her hair before going to my closet to look for an outfit then walking to the bathroom to the needful.

I sing Sofia the first, iCarly and Victorious theme songs with a little bit of Ben 10. I step out of the bathroom to take my lotion and deodorant. My outfit consisted of a long-sleeved sweatshirt inside of a baggy graphic tee and boyfriend jeans, I paired it with hanafuda earrings which I purchased from Aliexpress and my signature footwear, black crocs. I let my box coils free because my mission is to be invisible.

I spot my sister with her fingers tapping away on my phone. " What are you doing?" I took my phone from her to see that she was texting Rhodite.

" Elena, I'm begging you, write and talk like 5 years old. Who taught you all these big words?" I turned off all the lights in my room and placed her on my hips.

She giggled and grins at me, only her behaviour is that of a 5-year-old " Daddy taught me everything I know." I set her on the counter in the kitchen as a prepared some oats for the both of us. I pray that I don't burn it.

Thankfully it wasn't burnt and I served both of us, I had to wait for her to eat since her food was hot. Noah came down the hall with a dead look today which is his normal look.

" I heard Daniel came on Wednesday, where is he?" I frown when I didn't see him.

" He's with Natalie." Noah open the refrigerator to look for leftovers and saw some rice with stew which he warmer up.

"Who that?" Who's she that he can't even meet me and went to her?

Elena was already munching on her food "She is his wife."

I wanted to ask A about this but she's currently sleeping and I don't disturb her. "Ehn? From where?" I guess she must be good if they like her.

Noah sat in front of me with a steaming plate of rice and stew with shaki ( tripe) "Don't mind her joor she's not his wife, but his girlfriend." He makes a face of disgust " their love sickens me." He brought his tongue out.

" It can't be that bad." I dropped my food to use my phone since I wasn't feeling hungry again.

After breakfast, we all filed into Noah's car and headed for school. I was dreading entering the black doors of the hall. What she told me yesterday made me scared, I was walking on eggshells.
