I was amazed when Noah parked his car in the lot of the school.

What is even more surprising is the fact that some girls are staring at him like they worship the ground they walk on.

" What is going on?" I nudged his side.

" Nothing, it's just that people find me mysterious which makes me popular." He rolled his eyes.

I'm not used to this attention at all. I don't think I've gotten this attention before it is just so overwhelming.

" Noah is like very popular in this school so like...yeah." Shanti gave me a brief explanation like I am supposed to go with that.

" He one of the shit and bomb here in Riverside." Elena perks up.

I give her the stare and tell her to stop while Noah was giving her a thumbs up.

I feel so uncomfortable with their stares at me now that Noah walked off to god knows where.

I lift Elena and place her on my hips with her bag in my hand." Let's go in. Elena is about to sleep" I wish I was wearing a hoodie. I turned to Shanti who was running her fingers through Eli's head and his droopy eyes. "So is this one." She ruffles Eli's curly hair

We entered the school through the big black doors. The moment I stepped foot on the ground of this school, I knew there was a weird amebo vibe going on in this school.

" Why is everyone looking?" I was very conscious of myself right now.

" Because you are new, ode(fool) and you came out of Noah's car so it is a big deal for everyone because Noah doesn't allow girls in his car except Elena and me- but we are family so fuck it" She rolled her eyes at my obliviousness.

I never really knew Noah was popular, heck I didn't even know the boy till like two years ago so I can't say much about him. I just hope our relationship will get stronger and he would stop avoiding me.

I frowned" Fufu. How was I supposed to know?"

" That is why I'm telling you so just shut up." She sighed.

" Another reason they are looking at you is that you are wearing Crocs to school." She deadpanned.

Oh.

I pulled off my Nike in the car because it was killing me as comfy- and very heavy on my legs- as it was.

" You know I don't dress like that, even Mama knows. We've all decided that I'm the weird one between the two of us, Shanti." I defend myself.

" Yeah, and you look very stupid in it." She once me up.

" I don't." I noticed that we are already in the kids' area of the school making me wish I was a kid.

It is fun being a kid with no worries, restrictions, what ifs, or overthinking, just pure fun, happiness, and carefree. Even maths wasn't hard then; if the teacher were to ask what is 2 divided by 5, the answer would be 'it can't go through' but not we have to find the decimal then the root, and things that make my brain overheat. I'm only making it out through her smarts.

" Please next time do not wear Crocs." She begged me.

I guess I'll have to bring out the slides then. I thought to myself.

" Yes ma'am."

" We are here." She stopped in front of Elijah and Elena's class.

I did not move, instead, I was trying to know how it would feel to have a childhood. I want to experience what Elena and Elijah enjoy and love. I never really knew how it felt. I want to feel it.
