"I get to love you, it's the best thing that I'll ever do.
I get to love you, it's a promise I'm making to you!
Whatever may come your heart I will choose, forever I'm yours, forever I do.
I get to love you! I get to love you!
I get to love you! I get to love you!
And they say love is a journey, I promise that I'll never leave.
When it's too heavy to carry, remember this moment with me!"1 year, 3 months, and 9 days after nearly losing Lena, Kara held her new wife close for their first dance as a couple as she sang the lyrics to the song she'd picked out specifically for Lena - I Get To Love You By Ruelle. They newlyweds had stood before their family and friends only an hour ago and vowed to cherish each other and to love each other for the rest of their lives. It was a small ceremony, only those closest to them - and only those who knew Kara's secret - were in attendance. This would have meant that Sam and Ruby wouldn't be able to be there, but Kara wouldn't hear of it. They'd invited them for dinner soon after Kara proposed, and told them that Kara was Supergirl. Neither of them, however, expected the mother-daughter duo to simply look at them and say, "Well, duh" in unison.
Now here they were, staring into each other's eyes and whispering sweet nothings as the music continued to play. By the time it came to an end, both of them were struggling to keep from making love right there in front of everyone. No one was the least bit surprised when the two women said their goodbyes and got into J'onn's car, waving goodbye to everyone as they flew off towards argo, their bodies pressed together as they shared a passionate kiss, barely noticing as the blue sky turned to a sea of stars around them. The flight wasn't a long one, but it was made to feel longer as the two lovers grew anxious to surrender to their passion for the first time.
"We have to stop kissing now or our first time is going to be in Space Dad's ship," laughed Lena.
Kara simply nodded, puting as little space between them as they could stand, choosing instead to focus on the stars outside and point out the different galaxies to Lena as she told her stories of the places she'd gone as a child. As soon as they crossed into Argo's atmosphere, Lena's eyes lit up in wonder. She'd never seen a place so beautiful, so unique. Unbeknownst to her, Kara had spoken to Alura the week after their engagement and told her of her hope to bring Lena to Argo for their honeymoon. Alura, being overjoyed not only at the prospect of seeing her daughter again but at hearing just how happy and in love Kara was, had offered to have a small cottage constructed on the outer rim of Argo City away from everyone else and surrounded by beautiful wildflowers and gardens. Kara, of course, had kept all of this a secret from Lena wanting to see her face when she saw their home away from home.
The ship landed smoothly in a field just outside the garden that surrounded the cottage. THe sight before them took their breath away. Plumerias of every color and Dar-Essa flowers surrounded them as they walked down the short path lit by white twinkling lights. The door was locked, something that Kara wasn't quite expecting. A note on the door addressed to them both containing a note from her mother as well as a key.
"May the countenance of Rao ever shine on you, My daughters."
After unlocking the door, Kara quickly swooped Lena into her arms and carried her across the threshold. Archaic as the tradition was, ever since she realized she was gay, she'd always wanted to carry her wife into their home on their wedding day. Inside the house was nearly as beautiful as the outside, and both Kara and Lena looked around the one room honeymoon cottage in awe.
"So, my dear wife," said Lena, staring into Kara's eyes seductively. "What do you think we should do?"
"I have a few ideas," said Kara with a devilish grin as she tossed Lena gently onto the king size bed in the corner of the room.
"Only a few?"
