They crawled through the little space between the wall and the floor. There was a secret pasture apart from the forest.

"Wow! This is a paradise." Mary was so used to seeing only green trees that she forgot the beauty of flowers (even though see did not see them a lot)

Mary and Diego began to search for fruits as they hadn't eaten in a while. They moved a bit deeper into the patch where the trees were. While searching for fruits, Diego noticed a parrot. It was carrying a white envelope that looked like a letter. He went in front of it and the parrot started a chorus of 'A letter for Diego.' He took the letter from the parrot and it flew away. Diego did not want Mary to know about his letter so he went in a corner and opened it.

Dear Diego,

I want you to know that today is the curse magic day that comes once every 5 years. And if you don't remember the story, then you'll hear it again. The wizard had cursed the Limpstons many times but this one is the worst. He was very upset that Lafazar killed two people so he took the magic away from him once a year. Since his magic has now weakened, magic will only go away once every 5 years. Hope your mission's going well darling.

With love,

Your mom, Lucinda.

Diego hadn't heard from his mom for weeks and weeks. He was glad to finally hear from her. Diego was thinking deeply about the time that he and his mom spent together. "I wish I could just reverse the time. This is all because of Mary. She needs to tell me where the hat is." Now that he had to come for this mission, he could not meet his mom.

"What are you doing here? And what's that?" Mary was pointing towards the letter he was holding.

"N- Nothing... And- And what's w- what?" he hid the letter behind his back stammering as he did not want Mary to look at his letter.

"The paper you have in your hand." Diego was now getting tense as Mary was now getting closer to finding out the truth. Suddenly, He tripped, and as he did so, he shoved the letter in his pocket and grabbed a leaf from the ground.

"Oh, are you talking about t- this?" He gave Mary the leaf he picked up from the ground.

"Never mind." Mary was pleased to know (think) that he was not keeping anything from her. They went back to searching for fruits. Mary thought that she might find food in the middle of the pasture.

She called out to Diego (who was still standing at the same spot as before) to go along with her. There was a huge Banana tree in front of them.

"Finally, some food. I'm starving." Diego ran forwards to pluck the bananas but as he reached out to one, an electric shock threw him back and a deep and heavy voice was talking to him.

"No te atrevas a tomar mis plátanos, pero si realmente los quieres, responde mi enigma."

Mary was blank as she did not understand a single word that the deep voice said.

"Diego, what did that voice say. I don't understand Spanish very well as I am from Scotland."

"It just said that If we want the bananas then we will have to answer a riddle."

"Oh, and Diego please tell it to talk in English.'

"You only 'ave one chance 'o answer the 'iddle. If you can't, then you 'ill starve 'o death as I 'ill 'ot let you go out of 'ere," the voice was telling them about the rules for the game that they just unknowingly enrolled for.

Mary looked behind at the door which was now shut tight.

"So, this is 'ow the riddle 'oes: You can veel me but you 'an't see me. Your touch will 'ncrease me and your treatment 'ill ease me. I 'ome when you are careless and I 'on't leave 'ntil you bare me, more or 'ess. Who 'm I?"

"This is the most confusing riddle I have ever heard." Complained Diego. The voice was now laughing like an evil witch.

"You 'ave 20 more seconds. be quick." They were thinking hard but no appropriate word came in their mind.

"I think t- the answer is- is d- disease." Diego was very nervous as he thought that his answer was wrong and his thoughts were right.

"Your answer is wrong. Ha-ha."

Maryand Diego were devastated as they couldn't do anything. Diego was so angry andstarved that he blamed everything on Mary.
