MENDIMIAN

"OK. Thanks for everything and I promise you that I'll be careful. Now can we take the bananas?"

"Oh yeah sorry. I forgot. Take as many as you want." Diego and Mary feasted on the bananas (as that was the only thing that they could find in that forest.)

After they were full and couldn't have any more, they bid farewell to the pixies and walked away. Suddenly, Mary had a feeling that she was leaving something behind. "Diego,"

"Yes."

"Um, I think I left something behind. Please just wait here I be back in a second."

Diego waited there for ten minutes but Mary did not come back so he got worried. He finally decided to wait a little longer. After 5 minutes, he saw Mary coming back. He let out a sigh of relief (which was really a my- plan- did- not- fail kind of sigh)

Diego asked her if she found what she had forgotten and he couldn't believe what she showed him. Mary told him the whole story on their way towards the blue rock.

"So, I went back to the banana tree to ask Mendimian if he would come with us,"

"Sorry to interrupt, but who is Mendimian?" Diego got a little lost in Mary's story as she was speaking extremely fast.

'Oh, well that's just Mr Mulfrick the Pixie.' Mary did not mind replying but there was no doubt that she did not like this little interruption. 'Anyway, I thought that he would definitely say yes but that was not the answer I got. He told me 'I appreciate you invite but my little buds right here need me more than you guys do.' He was about to shut me out but I just couldn't let that happen so I asked him if he was sure that he did not want to leave his completely horrific place in which he was locked in for so so many days. He told me that I was being unreasonable but then, he realised that he did need a break from that place. Mendimian told me to wait while he discussed the matter with his buds. And you can guess the rest. Can't you?'

"Yeah. I can." Diego was acting stranger by the minute. This was so as the blue rock was getting closer and Diego still hadn't figured out how he will lock Mary in. Mary did not know about this, of course so it was not a very big problem but it definitely was one.

By the time Mary finished telling her tale, it was pretty dark so they had to find a proper spot to rest. 'Hey look! I think we should rest here' Mary said pointing towards big, leafy rosewood tree.

"Yeah, it looks like a good spot. I'll set the bags, you can get the sticks"

They both immediately set to work leaving Mendimian alone on a rock nearby. Mary quickly got the sticks and lit the fire (she learned how to do that by watching Diego) right next to where he was placing the sleeping bag.

"Whew! All done. Now I'll go get the pixie so he can sleep on these sticks" Mary scooted back to the place where she had left Mr Mulfrick but he was not there. 'Oh no! where is Mendimian?' she cried

"He must be around somewhere enjoying his first day out of that silly tree while we are working to give him comfort." Just as Diego finished his sentence, he heard someone asking for his attention. "Ahem Ahem." It was Mendimian. He was, too, making his own bed by rotating his finger which was barely visible.

There was a long silence after the misunderstanding but when the beds were finally put up, Mary said, "Good night to both of you." Mendimian and Diego were staring blankly at each other.

"Oh come on. You guys are not little kids. Please stop your nonsense."

Both of them stared blankly again but when they saw Mary's face, Diego apologized.

"Never mind but what is important is that I am starving. What will we have for dinner?"

"Actually, we don't really have dinner, but I'll go find some mushrooms if you want,' Diego replied.

"I'll come with you," Mary injected.

They both went scrolling down the way to find some non-poisonous mushrooms. Mary thought that she now recognised the things in a forest, so she didn't take the book with her. That, of course, was not a very wise decision as they never really fiddled with any mushrooms before.

They both collected some in baskets and when they were done, they exchanged baskets and inspected the mushrooms inside them. They both did not exactly know which ones were good, so they thought that the ones with no patterns were bad as most of them were super colourful.

Mary and Diego get back to their little campsite and roasted the mushrooms.

After a tasty feast, the three of them got into their beds and had a good night's sleep with sweet dreams. Even Diego.
