"How am I responsible for any wrong answer you submitted to anyone?" Mary argued.

"You are the one who brought us here. If you hadn't, then we would never have to answer that riddle." Diego stormed back.

'You are the one who pleaded me to choose the way in the first place. You could have done it yourself." Mary was now so annoyed that she could have done anything to prevent Diego from pointing out her mistake, even if that meant killing him.

"NO, I COULDN'T CHOOSE THE WAY MYSELF AS TODAY IS NO MAGIC DAY FOR ME."

Due to the anger burning inside Diego he unintentionally told Mary about the letter he got.

"Oh! So that's why you got that letter. I heard the parrot's chorus but I never expected this. And, why did you want to hide it from me? Is there a problem? Or you don't trust me."

"N- no. It's not that-"

"Then what? What is it then? Huh? Tell me." The anger in Mary's heart turned her face red. It was obvious that she was more furious then anyone in this world had ever been. She went back to the rock where she was sitting before. Diego also had no answer so he sat there lowering his gaze towards the ground. Mary did not say a word for a while too. Then, she suddenly calmed down and said, "Well, you must have had your reasons. But right now, it doesn't matter much as We've got to get outta here."

She stepped forward and asked the tree or whatever it was for the bananas. "Dear Mr voice, I really want your bananas as they look so luscious and mouth-watering. Can I please have them? Pretty please!" Mary sounded so different and affectionate. Diego never thought that Mary could be so convincing but that was also not enough to convince the voice.

"No. I 'ust asked you my riddle, but you 'ouldn't answer so bare the 'ain and die 'ight here where our 'eloved so-'alled friend cursed us." Now it seemed like the voice was cracking and was no longer very heavy.

"To be honest, I don't care much about that but still I'll do it if it's the only way to get out." Mary whispered to Diego and then back to the voice, "I can get you free if you let me answer that riddle." She finished in a rather pathetic little squeaky voice as she did not like being nice to the only thing that tried to starve them to death.

"I can't 'ive you a 'econd chance as I 'm not allowed to do so for the dark 'nd evil person who put the curse on me will become more powerful and that's the biggest pain for us all." The voice replied again in the harsh, heavy voice.

"That's not true as the previous time, you asked the riddle to my amigo, Diego not me so you are not giving him a second chance, but you are giving me my first chance." Nobody knew since when Mary knew how to trick people into doing things but what she did was a divine to everyone present there, except Diego but he did not complain for he did not know about it himself.

"You know the riddle. Just answer.' The voice told Mary.

"Hmm. It should be something I can feel and it and it increases if I touch it and it'll come when I'm careless. What could it be?" Mary was thinking hard but her heart already knew the answer. "I think the answer is pain."

As soon as she told the answer, both, Diego and Mary could hear a triumph celebration going on somewhere. Who could be so happy at their victory for food and freedom? Maybe the voice if it was of someone alive?

"C'mon. join us." the voice that gave them the riddle was talking to them again. They looked around to find the speaker of the voice. They both split up to find the 3rd person just when Mary had an idea. "Mr whoever you are,"

"My name is Mendimian Mulfrick." The voice corrected her.

"OK Mr Mulfrick,' she moved closer to the place from where the voice came from as she laid her eyes on a huge hollow in the tree where there was a small pixie. "There you are. Huh! You are a.... What are you?"

"I am a pixie" Mr Mulfrick replied.

"A pixie? But pixies don't look like this. I have seen a picture of a pixie in one of my books. They are a little taller that you are and they have-"

"You can see what I look like, can't you?" The pixie had huge elephant like ears, a long-pointed nose and a mushroom-like head. He also had an unusually small body with wings on his humped back (this was just a disability. The other pixies were not hump-backed.) and very long toenails. "Now you know that it's just a myth. I don't look like whatever you are going to describe."

Mary was a little confused as just a few minutes back, the pixie had a size as small as a mushroom and his voice was utterly unclear. Yes, but now not as he was taller and with a clear voice (this still did not make him less uncanny.) She couldn't understand how it was possible (even though she now knew that magic existed) so she asked Mr Mufrick "Um how did you become taller?"

"So you did not understand? Ask your little friend right here." He pointed towards Diego. "He'll tell you. Won't you my dear?" he finished.

"Yeah I will" Diego said unwillingly. "So, um... Mary, the curse that their friend put on them made him do all this... His voice, size and habitat were changed so, yeah that's... that"

"Oh! So, nothing that will happen from now on will be normal?" Mary did not like joking around but she did anyway.

"Yeah you can say so my dear as I can see that you have an unfortunate future but I will only tell you to be careful with whomever and whatever you are dealing with. The danger you are facing is greatest to your family so please be brave and remember that you shan't trust everyone who is nice to you."

The one and only help that the pixies of Amazon offered was fortune telling and Diego did explain that to Mary (before she could ask.
