Bright and early on Saturday morning, well earlier than usual,Saphira woke up and trudged to the bathroom with her tired self. She turned on the pipe in the bathtub, plugged the drain and threw some of her citrus soap in the tub in order to set a bubble bath.

One minute she was stepping into the tub, the next she was splashing her tail around in the water filled with soap bubbles. Saphira closed her eyes and laid her head back on the wall. She felt at peace... until a wine bottle fell right infront of her and made water splash in her face.

"What the heck!" Saphira screamed in annoyance. She wondered what on earth disturbed her tranquility. She clutched the bottle and discovered that there was a note on the inside. She opened the bottle  and the note read:

"Good morning Saphira, my first half mermaid. Sorry to disturb you but I have realized that you have so much to learn as a mermaid. You need to attend Mermaid school. Once enrolled you can learn everything there is to being a real mermaid. Every Saturday you will come to the  abandoned dock on the East of town where we will pick you up. Starting today so go there now.

P.S. I made your phone water resistant so don't leave it.
                                                                                            ~Queen Amelia   "

Saphira quickly got dressed and took a taxi to her destination. She went to the end of the dock and waited for something to happen. Then out of the blue, or deep blue, a wave came up and stole Saphira from the land.

Saphira felt a watery impact then opened her eyes to see mermaids galore. They were everywhere, up, down left and right.

"Is this Atlantis?" Saphira questioned her location.

"Oh no dear. It's just a random place in the ocean we call our home."

"Who said that? "

"Me!"

Saphira turned around to see a stunning mermaid with black velvet hair which was styled in beach curls. She had purple highlights which matched with her tail.

"You must be the half mermaid. Welcome to the wonders of the ocean. My name is Syrinity" She greeted Saphira with a smile.

"How do you know me?" she puzzled.

"Oh everyone knows you. You're like the chosen one or something."

" Great! Just what I wanted...Attention." Saphira said sarcastically.

"Anyway I have been sent here to be your guide for Mermaid School."

"Okie Dokie. " she smiled.

Saphira and Syrinity swam to the Principal of the school to start registration.

"Hello I am your principal, Ms Sandore."

She started her lecture about rules, regulations and punishments as well as attendance and more.

Ms. Sandore continued " Now it's time to decide the classes that you will be taking. First you will need a second language."

"I already do Spanish in my other school."  Saphira explained.

"Not that type of language," the principal interrupted "In mermaid school you will learn to speak either Dolphin or Whale."

"Woah definitely Dolphin. I love them." Saphira beamed a ray of sunlight."

"Also you have to practice your powers or else they may cause a disaster."

"What powers do I have?" she asked intently.

"It depends. Some mermaids can have one and others up to six."

"Awesome!" she sang while doing a happy dance.

"Don't get your hopes up. You're different from us so we are not 100% percent sure if you would even get any."

Saphira froze wide eyed. Her heart broke a little but she thought that it would be good to have atleast a little hope.

It was time to go to her first class which was Spels and Potions. As she entered all her eyes were on her. Her new underwater classmates were whisperig to themselves. They dnt know how to whisper well so Saphira heard all that they were saying.

"Oh my Jellyfish. She's the land girl who was changed into one of us."

"She is prettier than I expected. "

There were more that were similar to those but let's continue the story.

Saphira enjoyed her classes throughout the day. She was content until she  saw a familiar face. It was that same mermaid with the horrible attitude. Saphira stopped swimming and looked at her wondering why she had to see this girl again.

Syrinity saw Saphira and tried to talk to her but she was in deep thought so she didnt hear a thing. Syrinity approached her and realised what caught her attention.

"Oh that's Mary. Why are you looking at her like that? " Syrinity asked wih keen interest.

"That's her name? Mary? More like Bloody Mary." she rolled her eyes.

"Did something happen between you two?"

"Trust me. It's  best you don't know."

Saphira chose to avoid Mary for the day. She didn't want anything to ruin her exciting experience. After the day was done she was teleported to the dock where she was before. When she arrived at homme she ran to her  room and called Ally to tell her about the day.
