"Armin! Look at this." You call out to your boyfriend, who's laying on your chest horizontally. You were outside at your usual picnic spot, where the huge tree is. The birds are still chirping as it's still early in the day. The pond was as lively as ever, you can even see some pond fishes added in there. It was peaceful, as if the word stress doesn't exist in your vocabulary.

"What??" He takes his attention off the book he's reading and he tilts his head backwards to look at you.

You show him your phone screen, revealing Eren's most recent post. It was a selfie of him with his arm around Mikasa's shoulder while she kisses him on the cheek. Eren had that smug smirk on his face, while Mikasa's complexion was gentle, like an angel descended from heaven.

"How cute! They finally made it public." Armin chuckles.

"What?! You knew?" You ask, shockingly. It's been around a month since you were in the vacation house, meaning summer break is halfway over.

When you wake up the next morning after you fixed everything with Armin, your next priority is doing the same with Reiner.

You looked out on the balcony to see him out in the pool, alone. Armin was still asleep as it was quite early, so you quietly got out of your room and out to the patio.

"Hey." You say. Reiner turned around and you gave him a friendly wave. He let his legs flail in the pool while he sat on the edge, so you did the same and sat next to him.

It was quiet for a while.

It was like this too when you had to sort it out with him for the first time.

"Sorr-"

"Sorry." You both say at the same time. You hate having to say that phrase all the time, but you actually have sincere intentions. You are sorry because Reiner has these feelings for you, but you don't return them. He's having to see you with someone else while he hides his feelings because he knows going after you, while you're clearly interested in someone else, will just cause more problems.

"Is everything okay with Armin now?" He asks and you give a small nod.

"Yeah, but I came down to check on you." You say. Ever since he confessed to you months ago, you never spoke about it again and continued being close friends. You never would've thought that he still likes you romantically, but that's on you for being naive.

"I'm okay, you don't have to worry." Reiner sighs.

"But I know you aren't. Talk to me." You lightly squeeze his arm.

Surprisingly, he did open up to you. The conversation you had with him that morning was way more thorough than the first time and he actually got to let out what he had to say.

It was tense and of course, awkward, but you want to work it out with him. Reiner is one of your best friends and you're not going to let something like this ruin your bond.

"Yeah! They told me a while back, but they asked to keep it a secret." He laughs.

Typical, since Armin is one of the best friends after all. Eren and Mikasa have been giving everyone the implication that they like each other, it just wasn't announced til he posted the picture.
