Chapter 9
The word of Rebecca’s bravery spread faster than herpes, and everyone saw her differently. When her English writing class rolled around she was feeling dizzy, and cloudy. She wrote but, she felt something was missing. Her head rang and her mind spun it endless circles. When the bell rang she went to stand up and everything in her collapsed her head hit the desk behind her. Papers sprawled onto the floor, as her knees buckled beneath her, everything was blank and empty in her mind. August jumped over two desks and was at her side in a matter of seconds. Her eyes had rolled back into her head and it seemed as if she was seizing.
“She’s seizing!” yelled August, his voice shaking with panic. One girl had 911 on the phone.
“The ambulance is on its way,” she said
Once the paramedics arrived they whisked her away. August went home that day with fear building in the pit of his stomach. He raced to the hospital…
