The palace became busier by the day. Everyone was occupied. The king had instructed Esther to make sure that Jayson's party would be perfect. Esther on her own part over worked the servants and court ladies, because her father expected nothing less than the best from her.
Elena on her own part was needed everywhere and barely got time to rest. As the second prince's head court lady, she was to make sure everything was to his liking. From the colors that were to be used at the party to the list of invited guests. Jayson originally wanted a small party, where he'd have only his family and his friends, but the king had refused. Reason being that it was his eighteenth birthday and it needed to be well celebrated. It was also a kind of farewell because Jayson would soon be leaving to live with his uncle Desmond.
Things between Jayden and Elena were getting better. They spoke about what they wanted and Jayden agreed to be her lover even if she moved away. Elena was surprised that Jayden even gave her the chance to speak up on what she wanted. He made her promise to send letters which she did. They'd gone from exchanging quick pecks on the lips to steamy make outs in Jayson's room. Elena had gotten bolder. She had always been shy whenever Jayden tried to do other things asides kissing. But now, she had his cock down her throat at least 5 times a week. She had become naughtier by the day, whispering provocative words in his ear when no one was looking. But she was still ever respectful to him. Their relationship was still a secret. The matron and Jayson knew about it but while Jayson was in support, the matron was neutral. She wasn't in support, neither did she discourage them.
Anne had always known Elena was going to attract the princes. She wasn't surprised when Elena came to her to tell her what had happened between she and Jayden. She didn't complain, but the main question was 'would Lisbeth support them?'
Anne knew Lisbeth wasn't going to agree. She had gone through something similar. It wasn't everyday that a prince had something to do with a court lady.***
"What's Stephen's best color?" Jayson held a bunch of invitation card in his hands, he wanted to pick out one specially for Stephen himself.
"Why are you asking?" Elena asked him. "Give me those, you shouldn't even be with it in the first place." When Jayson didn't budge, she sighed. "Okay blue."
"That's what I thought" Jayson replied sarcastically. "Oops, I don't have a blue card, I'll have Esther make one for him."
"He won't mind even if it's gold you know. No need to stress yourself over it." Elena was sure that Stephen wouldn't mind but Jayson didn't agree with her.
He'd promised Stephen to send him a special birthday card. He wanted to add a little spice by sending it in his best color. "Nope, I want to make sure it's blue, it's blue or nothing."
"Spoilt brat."
"No, you don't get to call me that, at least I'm not the one that delegates half of her work to her lover." Jayson said staring Elena down.
"What?" Elena asked. Her face was red. "No, I don't."
"Yes, you do." Jayson sang.
"I really don't, he insists to help, plus I could use some help too."
"What are you guys talking about?" Jayden asked from the doorway. He came into the room and wrapped his arms around Elena. He kissed her cheeks and forehead and sat down beside Jayson.
"Elena...."
"Jayson, keep your mouth shut.
"But I ...."
"If you want Stephen to come, you'll keep your mouth shut."
"Wow that's a low blow Elena."
Jayden just looked at the two, he was amused that they had the strength to bicker after a very stressful day. He sighed and stretched him arms.
"You guys seriously, I need a break from all these. My 18th birthday wasn't even this grand. Dad is over working me."
