"So as we were saying." Edgar continued. He didn't even act as if his only daughter had just been locked up. "We need Jayson here. Jeffrey."
"Yes my lord." Jeffrey bowed and exited the room immediately.
Desmond cleared his throat. "Um about Esther..."
"No no. You don't need to. I know she has always been like that. I don't know if the kids told you guys but she gave Elena tough time back home. She never liked her. I don't know the reason why, but I know she's not a bad person. So leave her there to cool off. Lisbeth I'm really sorry..."
"Not at all. It's okay really. We need to solve the issue at hand first."
"What's going on?" Jayson asked, walking into the room. He was still very sleepy and could barely walk straight. "Why did you guys summon me so early in the morning."
Lisbeth frowned. "Early? Wait a minute." Walking towards Jayson, she pulled down his shirt and gasped. "What happened to you?" That seemed to make Jayson wake up immediately. "What are all these red marks?"
Jayson blushed. He looked towards Stephen who was already looking at him too. "It's just..."
"Just what?" Edgar asked. "From today you'll sleep with me."
"What? But dad I'm an adult! You can't do that."
Edgar sighed. "We have more important issues at hand Anyways. Somehow half of the royals found out you have a thing for men..."
"Me!" Stephen corrected.
Edgar sighed again. "Alright. You have a thing for Stephen, plus the way you dressed yesterday. A lot of them want to court you and some are asking your hand in marriage."
"Hand in marriage?" Jayson asked laughing. "Uh no thanks."
"No thanks?" Desmond asked. "Good. Now you'll write the letters to over hundred royals explaining why you won't court them."
"Me? Over hundred? No the scribes can do that."
"That's true." Stephen chirped in. He walked towards Jayson and wrapped his coat around him. "Are you cold?"
When Jayson nodded, he hugged him. "Sorry sweetheart."Jeffrey nudged Stephen and used his eyes to look towards the elder royals watching them.
Stephen cleared his throat and pulled away from Jayson.
"Who's courting who?" Edgar asked eyeing Stephen.
"We decided to meet our fathers, the both of you. Since we're not ladies."
Edgar nodded. "Okay. No sleeping together, no hickeys. No sex or whatever till you guys get married."
"Married?" Desmond asked. "You guys are getting married?" All eyes turned to him.
"Of course dad, they're getting married." Elena scoffed. "These two can't stay away from each other, you know that."
"You guys can't birth a child." Desmond deadpanned. "You'll take concubines atleast yes?"
When no one replied him, Desmond felt stupid. "Just for heirs." He reasoned.
"Desmond. I think you're lucky to be alive right now. Because the way Jayson is glaring at you right now." Edgar shook his head.
"I'm sorry but I don't understand how we're gonna get an heir." Desmond explained.
"That's why we have Kenedy." Jayson said quietly. "Stephen doesn't want concubines. Unless you really don't want me with your son uncle Desmond."
"What? Of course I want you guys to be together but surely you understand where I'm coming from." Desmond argued. "I guess it's okay. Kenedy is our heir."
Lisbeth nudged Jayson who was still glaring at Desmond. "He didn't understand is all."
He nodded. "I'll direct the scribes on how to reply the letters." He stood up and walked away.
"Now you've annoyed him. It's going to take time to convince him that you really didn't want to get concubines for Stephen." Edgar sighed. "I gotta talk to him."
"Just explain to him." Elena said.
Desmond nodded and leaned back, sighing heavily.
