After a few days Owen knew he couldn't put things off much longer, he had to find somewhere for (Y/N) to go so that he could work on getting a job now that the Foundation was done helping. He had gotten to know a few of the people in town with a little help from them he managed to find a place where she could go while he was at work. The town was fairly small and didn't have a big daycare but a few of the parents had their own little daycares, there weren't many kids in the town either, at least not ones that were around (Y/N)'s age. But luckily, he managed to find a place that he knew (Y/N) would be comfortable in, not very many kids and the kids that were there were a lot like her, and mostly free reign of what the kids could do within reason. All he had to do now was break the news to her, which had to be delicate.

It was a Sunday morning and as per usual he was up before her, he was sitting by the counter in the kitchen area when (Y/N) finally wandered out of her room.

"I smell bacon," (Y/N) said as she got closer.

He laughed slightly before replying, "Probably because I made bacon."

"Save any for me?" (Y/N) asked as she got on the chair next to him.

He just pushed the plate towards as a reply.

"Whatcha thinking about?" (Y/N) asked.

"Not much, why?"

"You just seem like your thinking."

Once she had finished off the bacon he spoke again, "What would you think of going and hanging with some other kids?"

"Depends."

"On what?"

"What kind of kids and how long and how many kids."

"Only a few kids that are a bit like you for a few hours a day."

"I get the feeling I don't really have a choice," (Y/N) said skeptically.

"That doesn't answer the question," Owen said, trying to avoid the fact that she didn't really have many options.

"I don't know," (Y/N) said, shrugging her shoulders.

"Would you want to give it a try?"

"Sure, why not?" (Y/N) said and then jumped off the chair.

Not exactly the most delicate way he could've gone about it but it seemed to be working.

"What are we gonna do today?" (Y/N) asked happily.

He shrugged his shoulders, "What do you wanna do?"

"Why is it always my choice?"

"I don't know, I guess that's just how it is," Owen said in a joking tone.

"Well, why don't you come up with something this time," (Y/N) replied.

"Well, we are almost out of food so we could go shopping," Owen suggested knowing she hated shopping.

"No!" (Y/N) was quick to reply.

It was the first nice day of Spring so they finally decided to find something to do outside which landed them down by the lake behind the house. (Y/N) walked along the shore picking out cool-looking rocks and a few shells. The water was still pretty cold so she had been ordered to stay out of the water as much as possible. Owen tried teaching her to skip a rock, but he couldn't seem to figure out how to do it anymore. Once it started getting dark it got cooler again and they went back to the house. The next day Owen would take her to daycare for the first time and he would start interviewing for jobs but for the rest of the night none of that mattered, after all, no point in focusing on the future when you have the present to keep you entertained, and it was never boring in that house. But as that night drew to a close so did the lifestyle that had followed them even after they left the island, things were going to change.
