It was only a few seconds after (Y/N) went under that she made her own way back up to the surface (A/N: I just wanna take a sec to explain why I had her learn to swim like this. I learned to swim when I got flipped off my floatie when I was little and that's how I learned to swim so I have no clue how to write a normal learning to swim chapter without it being cheesy and awkward, sorry) and it was only a few moments later that Owen pulled her out of the water and onto the dock. She was a little stunned that she tuned everything out for a few seconds until she heard Owen's fingers snapping next to her ear.

"Are you okay?" Owen asked in a slightly panicked and completely worried voice.

She simply nodded her head and Owen let out a sigh of relief and put his head down for a few moments.

"I'm sorry," (Y/N) said quietly and Owen raised his head again.

"I should've listened to you, I didn't mean to scare you," (Y/N) continued sheepishly.

"Its okay. But do you understand that when I tell you not to do something you don't do it?"

Again she nodded her head.

"Well, on the bright side I don't have to worry about teaching you to swim. You learned basically the same way I did," Owen said after a few moments.

"Your parents didn't teach you?" (Y/N) asked.

"Do my parents really seem like the people to teach their kid to do anything?" (Y/N) shook her head, "One of my friends pushed me in."

"Doesn't sound like a very good friend."

"Yeah, later he turned into a bit of a di- uh, bully," Owen said desperately trying to cover up what he almost said.

"What were you gonna say?"

"Nothing," Sure he had sworn around her before but still.

"You were gonna say something different," (Y/N) continued.

Owen searched for a way out of the converstaion, "You want ice cream?"

"Are you trying to change the topic?" (Y/N) just stared at him for a moment, "Who doesn't want ice cream?" (Y/N) said getting up.

"Well, you never know," Owen said following her.

"Uh, Daddy?"

"Yeah."

"In case you forgot we ate the last of the ice cream last night," (Y/N) pointed out.

"Oh son of a---" She turned and raised an eyebrow at him, "Can't say anything fun around you."

"I want ice cream."

"Tomorrow?"

"Now."

"We don't have ice cream."

"So?"

"Okay, fine if you can be ready in 10 minutes we'll go to the store and buy ice cream," Owen reasoned.

"Okay!"

She ran past him up the hill.

"Don't trip," Owen called after her.

"Why?" (Y/N) whined.

"Because last time I checked they don't have ice cream in the ER," Owen replied.

*One grocery store trip and a bowl of ice cream later*

"Are you happy now?" Owen asked.

"You still didn't tell me what you were gonna say down at the dock," (Y/N) pointed out.

"That's why I got you ice cream," Owen replied.

"Fine, be a dick," (Y/N) said casually shrugging her shoulders and walking away from the counter.

Owen was too busy laughing to scold her.
