I lay in bed with my laptop on my lap. On the other side of the screen is Jace. Two weeks ago we were in England and that was another great weekend. It's so nice to see Samantha and Jace together. "Where is mommy?". I get all warm inside when I hear him say that. Samantha's mom told him last week that Samantha is his mom and he absolutely loves it. Only Samantha doesn't know that yet and that should remain a surprise for a while. "Mommy is in the shower, but you do remember that it should remain a surprise, right?". I see him nodding. "And also that you will come tomorrow. That is also a surprise for mommy." He sits with a big smile. "Is mommy coming to pick me up too?". I shake my head. "Mommy still has to go to school, so I'll come alone. And now ssst. Mommy has finished showering. So don't say mommy anymore and don't say anything about tomorrow okay?". He nods. "Will you read to me?". "Is that Jace already?". Samantha asks as soon as she enters the bedroom. "Yes he was tired and wanted to sleep early. So hurry up and join us". "Sammy come. Skyler is reading to me". Samantha quickly puts on some clothes and curls up close to me in bed. "Did you have a nice day today?". Jace nods when Samantha asks. "I played with the neighbor's dogs". he says with a big smile. We'll talk for a while and then I'll read to Jace and not much later I'll laugh. "Jace you'll never guess who fell asleep before you again." "Mommy is tired too". "Yes mommy is tired too. And you really have to go to sleep now. Sleep well Jace and see you tomorrow". "See you tomorrow Skyler". He gives me a hand kiss and I do the same. I read some more and then Jace falls asleep too. I decide to go to sleep, even though it is still early. But it can use the energy in the near future.
Samantha and I woke up well before the alarm. Which is not surprising when you see how early we went to sleep. We are now snuggling in bed with each other. "You slept earlier than Jace yesterday." I say smiling. "Yeah sorry I really can't help it. Why didn't you wake me up?". I shrug. "You were so comfortable and so I went to sleep too." She looks at me with a smile and gives me a kiss. "Oh you have to drive home with Lara today". Samantha looks at me surprised. "Why?". I give her a small smile. Let's just hope she believes my lie. "I'm only at school for the first hour. I have to go to the dentist after that." "Couldn't you have planned that better for the next two weeks, then at least we'll have a holiday". "I had this appointment for a while. I only found out this week and then I couldn't reschedule it". She looks at me. "Will you be home when I get home or will you be later? I wanted to have dinner together to start the holiday". I give her a kiss. "Yes, if it's all right, I'll be home by then. And I think that's a good idea. Do I have to make a reservation somewhere?". She nods. "What do you fancy?". She shrugs. "The Italian or something, or you must be in the mood for something else". "Okay, I'll have a look later and make a reservation somewhere." We then lie in silence for a while and then Samantha takes her phone and looks at me. "The alarm will go off in half an hour. Are you going to take a shower with me?". I give her a big smile and then a kiss. "You don't have to ask me twice." We get up and have a nice time in the shower. In the bedroom nothing more than kissing happens, but outside the bedroom Samantha has completely lost her fear. And you won't hear me complaining about that at all.

I picked up Jace and Samantha's mother from the airport. Then I dropped off Samantha's mother at the hotel. She will stay there for two weeks and Jace will stay with us for these two weeks. I just got home with Jace now and show him the house. "It's big." He says as he looks around. "Are we going for a swim too?" He yells as soon as he sees the outside pool. "Yes, we will certainly do that. If it is too cold we can also swim indoors". He has a big smile on his face. "Is mommy not home?". I shake my head. "Mommy is still at school. She will be home in two hours. Shall we go and see where you are going to sleep first?". I grab his hand to take him upstairs. "Where do you and mommy sleep?". I point him to the right room. "And in that room Lara sleeps and Casper sleeps next to it". I say when I point to their bedrooms. "Which room is for me?". I walk with him to another room. "You can sleep here or do you want to stay in my bedroom?". He looks at me happily. "With you and mommy?". I shake my head. "No I have another bedroom, but I always sleep with mommy". I then show him my bedroom. "Can I stay here?". I nod. "Of course if you want to, you can sleep here". He looks at me with a big smile. "Would you like to get some sleep before mommy comes home?" He then nods and I put him to bed. Read to him and of course he fell asleep with the five minutes. This way I have plenty of time to clean up his stuff.

After that it is nervous waiting for Samantha to come home. I am happy when I hear that the car is parked. I quickly walk to the hall, to wait for Samantha. "You're finally here". I say when I give her a kiss right away. She looks at me surprised. "I'm not that late, am I?" she asks as she looks to Lara for confirmation. Lara then smiles and shakes her head. She and Casper know that Jace is here. I could hardly saddle them with a kid for two weeks without them knowing. "No you are on time, but I am impatient. I have a surprise for you". Samantha looks at me questioningly. "Oh. What kind of surprise?". She asks and I see Lara quickly push Jace's shoes aside and put her bag in front of it. "Come upstairs with me." I grab her hand and see Samantha biting her lip. "No sweetie not that". I say laughing. When we get upstairs I stop in front of my bedroom door. I stand behind Samantha and wrap my arms around her. "What kind of surprise is this?". She asks a bit nervously. "A very nice one". I give her a kiss on her temple and then open my door. She stares at the bed for a moment and then looks at me with wide eyes. "Jace is here?". I nod. "He will stay with us for two weeks". Then I get a lovely kiss. "That's not all." She looks at me questioningly and I let her go. I walk over to Jace and get on my knees next to the bed. "Wake up Jace. Look who's home." I say softly as I stroke his hair. He opens his eyes and looks at me. "Is mommy here?". I nod and then I look at Samantha. She immediately has tears in her eyes. Jace jumps out of bed and runs towards her. "Mommy is finally home". he says as soon as Samantha has picked him up. I walk that way too and give Samantha a kiss and grab her from behind. "Yes he knows and he is very happy with it". I whisper in her ear. "Does mommy ouch? Mommy is crying". Jace says worried. "No mommy is very happy". Samantha says and hugs Jace a little harder. "Mommy really likes the surprise. That's why she's crying." I say and Jace gets a big smile on his face. "If you don't mind, I've made a reservation for three by the Italian and we have to go soon. Then we'll have time to go swimming with him afterwards." Samantha gives me a beautiful smile and then a lovely kiss.
