Maria's POV:

As soon as Steve's footsteps were out of earshot Natasha bolted out of the room. Part of me worried that she was embarrassed or ashamed. But I couldn't let myself think like that, couldn't let my feelings get the better of me. I regained my composure, redoing my hair and adjusting my clothes until it didn't look like I had been in some feral attack. My body was still burning and I could still feel this raw, animalistic sensation in my gut. An internal hunger that wasn't yet satisfied. I had been told to speak to Fury, and I prayed Nat wasn't with him I didn't know if I could handle being in such close quarters with her just yet. Didn't know if I could stop myself from doing the one thing that I wanted.

Natasha's POV:

I had to focus on Yelena, she was the perfect distraction. I had to refrain from thinking about what had just happened. If I did I would just go straight back to Ria's room and finish what we started, over and over again as loud as we could no matter the rules or who walked by.

When I reached the lab all thoughts of Ria dissipated. Yelena was conscious; sitting upright on the gurney and engaged in a conversation with Fury, no doubt being grilled about the red room. I paused in the doorway just staring at her, taking in a breath to steady the wave of emotion. Her eyes flicked over to me standing in the doorway and she went quiet. We stared for a moment before she spoke.
"Natasha?" Her voice cracked as she spoke as if holding back tears.
I crossed over to her and wrapped her in a hug, squeezing my arms tightly around her.
"It's good to see you, Yelena".
The sound of Fury clearing his throat echoed through the silence.
"I'm sorry to interrupt this touching moment but Yelena was telling me some very valuable information, so if you don't mind"...
He gestured toward Yelena to continue what she was saying.
I stepped away and placed myself sitting down on a chair next to Fury.
She began to speak, but another set of footsteps could be heard thudding towards us. The realisation hit me. I knew that walk from a mile away.
I managed to keep a disinterested expression on my face as she walked in, keeping my eyes anywhere other than her.

Fury spoke first.
"Ah, Agent Hill I've been meaning to speak to you. Mind if we talk in my office?"
Ria's gaze briefly flicked over to me, Causing my face to bloom red as I recalled the hot touch of her lips on mine. She focused back on Fury her voice devoid of emotion.
"Of course sir I'll meet you there".
Fury must have sensed something was going on as he said, "Well that seems to be my cue I'll see you in 5 minutes, Agent Hill".
He turned to Yelena "we'll finish this conversation later".
And with that, he breezed out of the door.

Hill continued to ignore me and began to study Yelena's medical report, I was almost grateful for her ability to remain professional as she spoke again so calmly. "So, Yelena how are you feeling?"
She lifted her eyes from the paper to my sister sat on the gurney.
Yelena grinned, "Less like I want to kill you if that answers your question". They both laughed and my heart warmed at the sound. The two people I care about most in one room was something I'd longed to see.

"Well as long as you're doing well, I'll leave you and Nat alone, I'm sure you have a lot to catch up on".
Ria finally turned to me with a shadow of a smirk on her face as she said. "I'll speak with you later". She brushed a hand against my leg, her cool fingertips caressing my bare skin. My body shivered at her sensual touch, my toes slightly curled as I felt the sensation of being pressed against her body.

As soon as she left the room Yelena chuckled her voice bringing me out of my daze, "What was that about sestra?"
I struggled to find an answer, stammering through my response.
"I... It's nothing... We... I don't know Yelena"
She just raised an eyebrow and grinned "So did you two... you know while you were on the mission?"
My heart began to race as I tried to avoid the question.
"God no! We were focused on the mission nothing happened".
Yelena leaned forward, "But something did happen didn't it, come on don't deny it you practically jumped on her right there and then".
My face became hotter by the second, of all of the people I thought I would tell about Ria I never thought my sister would be one of them. I finally decided to give in and tell her the truth, "We had a moment and things were headed... that way, just before you woke up."
She slammed the table in her triumph and laughed, "I KNEW IT!"

I lowered my voice as I realised someone could be listening, and I couldn't deal with Banner taking the piss out of me for talking about my feelings in the lab of all places.
"But the thing is Yelena, nothing like that can happen again. Ria could get fired".
She snorted and muttered to herself
"God, you even have pet names that's so disgusting".

Realising that I wanted to be quiet she got down from the table and sat next to me holding onto my hand. "Look, Natasha if you think there's something there you have to pursue it, who cares about the rules and I'm pretty sure Fury already knows". I sighed, deep down I knew she was right but whether Ria even wanted to risk this was another thing.

"You're right, I need to talk to her... It's good to have you back Yelena".
She smiled "Of course, what are sisters for? Anyway, where's my welcome party I thought Stark was a billionaire or something?" Her comment made me chuckle,
"Well you're in luck, Stark is throwing one to honour your return before we go on the next mission".

She grinned from ear to ear bringing me back to the days when we were children.
"That is so cool, I've never had a party... But what's the mission?" I hushed my voice to a whisper ensuring no one could hear,
"To take down the red room".
