Annabeth Chase, Past Present and Future

Chapter 9

I woke up the next morning feeling disappointed that Chiron hadn't had not explain why these weird memories were coming to me.

It was breakfast time at the dining hall and there was soooo much noise.I could barely make out the what Sophie was telling me.

"Guess what?',she said ,"3 demigods in cabin 5  are going on a quest to see if they can recover the lightning bolt and see who took it."

"Wow,um good luck to them.The lightning bolt must be really dangerous if Chiron is willing to make a quest to find it."I said.As I said this I felt a little sour.Why do I need to wait for some demigod to come before  I can go on a quest?! I bet no one else does.

After breakfast I could make out the shape of Chiron coming towards me.

"Annabeth I need to talk to you about something.Follow me to the study."He said.

At the study Chiron broke the silence that had passed over us during our walk to the study.

"Okay, I have thought over and over about what you said and the only solution I have thought of is that someone stole your memories for a reason I do not know."he began, "I have decided the only way for you to know the real reason and recover your memories is to send out a quest with you leading it."

The last part hit me so hard.He wants to send out a quest with me leading it!All my sour feelings went away.Then It hit me..

"But don't I have to wait for a special demigod to come to camp?"

"Actually I visited the Oracle this morning and she said that the demigod came yesterday and the only person who came yesterday-"

"Was Percy."I said finishing the sentence for him, "So your saying me,Percy and someone else will be going on a quest to get my memories back and to find out why they were taken?"

"Exactly."Chiron said nodding his head. "How about you pay a little visit to the oracle of Delphi now?"

The Oracle of Delphi. Well she is very important, you visit her before a quest and she foresees a couple of really helpful stuff for you.

"Okay."I took a deep breath and walked over to the corner of the room and tapped on the roof 2 times. (I had to get a chair to reach the roof as its very tall.) Then a little ladder fell down from a trapdoor in the roof.

I climbed the ladder to the attic.The Oracles home.I started walking through the dusty boxes that might have been put in the attic, maybe 700 years ago.Yep that is how old they were.Some might be even 2000 years old.Not many people know for sure.

At the back of the room was a large  wooden chest with a small pattern on it with so much detail.I had to open the box and then the oracle would speak to me.So I opened it.Inside was something that looked like a mummy,She was wearing a long bright dress(with lots of spiderwebs and holes) and lots of  jewelry like long necklaces and stud earrings.As soon as she saw me her black eyes lit up to a bright yellow and she opened her mouth to speak..

You shall recover all your memories by sailing north

One of the three who go on the quests will die eating something bad

The person who you will meet will not make it an easy task

Only one will know the true meaning ....

After she had finished he eyes went back to normal and she went back in the chest which I closed.As I climbed down the ladder I saw Chiron waiting for me to tell him about what the Oracle said.

"So what did she say?"He asked.I had predicted right, he was going to ask what the oracle had said!

I told him what she said and as soon as I had finished he immediately said that this was good new( apart from the 1 person dying part) because that now we knew where the quest needed to head.And the fact that I will recover all my missing memories that somebody stole. Chiron also said that the last two lines in the prophecy will  start to make sense once the quest started.

"Annabeth can I leave you to pack and to decided who to take with you, obviously you have to take Percy but who else will you take."He said. "I will leave you to it.Also I think this quest will start in a few days, enough to pack everything you need and to have a day or two of extra training."He added.

I nodded as he headed out the room.I follow shortly.I still couldn't believe that I can go on a quest! I have been wanting to do this for like as long as I can remember.

For the first time in awhile I felt really really excited.
