Chapter IV

Taehyung: Guys this house is absolutely beautiful. Only two words can describe this house, simple yet elegant, just how I like it. Thanks again, guys.

They go for a group hug and then return to the packhouse. Taehyung and Namjoon on their way stop by the guesthouse to see the preparations for receiving the guests arriving the next day to attend the conference. After ensuring all the preparations have been done, they head back to the packhouse.

Next morning

At the Snow Flick Pack

Jungkook: Appa, Eomma, I'm leaving. I'll be back on Wednesday.

Mrs. Jeon: Wednesday?

Jungkook: The conference starts on Saturday and goes on for four days. I might not be able to return on Tuesday since the conference ends in the evening. So, I'll stay there for one more night before coming back.

Mr. Joen: Ok son, take care.

Jungkook: Then I'll be leaving now. Bye guys, love you.

Jungkook hugs his parents, bids goodbye to them, and exits the packhouse to see Hobi, Lisa, Chanyeol, Jongin, and Jimin waiting for him.

Jungkook: Chanyeol and Jongin remember what you have to do in my absence. Jiminie hyung, you can take decisions regarding any matter in the school while I'm gone and tell Yoongi hyung about the deal with the Bluestone pack.

Chanyeol, Jongin, and Jimin nod their heads. Jimin hugs Jungkook saying goodbye while Chanyeol and Jongin shake hands with him. Jimin and Rosé have always treated Jungkook as their brother even though they were not related. Rosé comes running and hugs Jungkook as well before bidding goodbye. She was late because she had an emergency case in the hospital. Once the goodbyes are over Jungkook leaves the pack with Hobi and Lisa. 

On his way out of the pack grounds, he sees some young pups running around. All the seriousness and professionalism Jungkook showed until now melts as a cute bunny smile appears on his face. He plays around with the pups like a child for about 10 minutes before Hobi forcefully dragged him away by the ear. Jungkook apologizes with his head down looking at his feet like a little child making Lisa and Hobi coo at him. Although Jungkook is older than Lisa by age, he is still ahead of her in terms of childishness. But they both know very well when to be childish and when to be serious.

With that, the three continue on their journey, entering into the Frostwork pack's land showing the letter to the security guard at the border. They make their way into the Frostwork pack leader's office greeting the other pack leaders who they met on the way only to find that the pack leader is not currently in his office. Jungkook greets two of the pack leader's cousins, Kim Namjoon and Kim Jennie, who are also important officers in the Frostwork pack as Namjoon was the pack leader's assistant and Jennie was the head of the Team of officials. Lisa and Hobi had gone to enquire about the accommodation arranged for them in the guest house.

Namjoon: Welcome Mr. Jeon. Are you here alone?

Jungkook: No, my pack's Beta and Military general are also here. They have gone to the guest house to prepare for the stay. And also, please call me Jungkook Mr. Kim.

Namjoon: Ok Jungkook. Don't bother calling me Mr. Kim though. Just call me hyung. You look younger than me.

Jungkook: Ok hyung. (Jungkook looks at Jennie who has a straight face)

Jennie: You can call me noona if you want.

Namjoon: Don't mind her Jungkook. She's like that. But since she told you to call her noona she approves of you as a person.

Jungkook chuckles a little and speaks

Jungkook: Ok hyung. When can I meet your other two cousins? The four Kim cousins are quite famous across the packs.

Namjoon: Taehyung will be here in a few minutes. He is the pack leader and Jisoo will be on the training grounds. She is the trainer for our pack in fighting and shifting. She'll get off work at noon. You can meet her at lunch. The lunch will be arranged in the banquet hall of the pack for all our guests. Please be there at 12 in the noon.

Jungkook: Ok hyung. In the meantime, I'll visit the former pack leader. I last saw him about five years ago when he came to our pack for some work. I'll visit him now and pay my regards. I'll see you both at lunch. Bye guys.

They bid their goodbyes and Jungkook goes to find Mr. Kim who, he was told, was in the guest house visiting the guests who have arrived. He reaches the guest house and meets Mr. Kim.

Jungkook: Good morning Mr. Kim. I am Jeon Jungkook, head Alpha of Snow Flick pack.

Mr. Kim: Oh Jungkook, you're here. What's with Mr. Kim? Just call me uncle like you used to. You've grown a lot since I last saw you. You look even more handsome than before.

Jungkook chuckles lightly and speaks

Jungkook: Still, I won't even compare to you uncle.

Mr. Kim: Well that is true. (they share a laugh.) Now tell me Jungkook how have you been? How are your parents?

Jungkook: I've been good, uncle. My parents are well too. Although my father's health has been deteriorating for some time. Because of that, I had to take charge sooner than we planned.

Mr. Kim: I know Jungkook. I'll tell you what. The head of the healers in our pack hospital knows how to make Panacea, the medicine that can heal any disease. Before you return to your pack, visit her to get the medicine. Your father will be fine.

Jungkook: Thank you so much, uncle. I'll do that. I don't know how to express my gratitude to you.

Mr. Kim: It's okay Jungkook. Your father is like a brother to me. I am happy that I could be of some help to him.

Jungkook and Mr. Kim continue to talk. In the middle of the conversation, Jungkook picks up a scent, the same addictive scent from the forest the previous morning. It seems to come from outside. Jungkook wants to go see who the scent belongs to but leaving now when Mr. Kim is talking to him so seriously about some official pack matters might be rude and disrespectful. So Jungkook decides to wait until the conversation is over. He can feel the scent coming closer to where he was before it seems to go further away from him. The scent becomes fainter and fainter until it finally disappears. 

Once Mr. Kim leaves, Jungkook comes out of the guest house to search for the person to whom the scent belongs but he can't pick up the scent anymore. He meets Hobi and Lisa outside the guest house. They tell him that the rooms prepared for their stay are ready. Jungkook goes to his room in the guest house to take a rest until it's time for lunch. He was disappointed for not being able to find the person to whom the scent belonged; it was the same with someone else too.
