𝔹𝕝𝕠𝕠𝕕 𝔹𝕒𝕥𝕙|𝔗𝔞𝔢𝔨𝔬𝔬𝔨 𝔣𝔣|𝐵𝒯𝒮 𝒻𝒻|

Chapter I

It was a bright morning with birds chirping sound that echoed through the forest accompanied by the hustling sounds of pack members moving around in the clearing in the middle of the forest preparing for the auspicious occasion of the new pack leader taking charge.

 Kim Taehyung, the to-be- head alpha of the Frostwork pack, goes about his daily routine of waking up, getting ready, and going into the forest for a walk carrying some grains that he could feed to the birds, despite the upcoming event in the evening that has the entire pack, from elders to young pups, very excited. Taehyung has always been kind to his people and they could never wish for a more perfect person who could lead them in the future.

Walking through the forest Taehyung comes to a stop once he reaches a river that flows through the heart of the forest. He sits down on a fairly large rock in the banks of the river, closing his eyes, listening to the various sounds around him. He could hear the sound of the flowing water in the river, leaves swaying with the wind and the rustling of bushes behind him that he believes was caused by a small animal about the size of a rabbit. He opens his eyes to the beautiful view of the river in front of him.

 That is when he catches a scent, a sweet and intoxicating scent from about 20 meters from him into the other pack's grounds. He stretches his neck trying to see past the large trees to spot the owner of the scent but could capture only the glimpse of a white fur. He wanted to know who the addicting scent belonged to but going into the other pack grounds without permission can stir up a lot of trouble which is something that he wants to avoid at all costs. He stays there for a few more minutes before returning to the packhouse.

On reaching the packhouse he is welcomed by a heartwarming hug from his mother and an encouraging pat on the back from his father which brought a small smile on his face that made him look more handsome. His cousins were gathered in the dining hall for breakfast. He hugged them one by one and everyone sat down to eat. Silence filled the room as they were eating quietly until his elder cousin's mate broke it.

Seokjin: Why is it awfully quiet here? Usually, it's so noisy that I have to scream for silence.

Jisoo: Brother-in-law is right. It's so awkward in here and that too for no apparent reason. Jennie and Namjoon don't usually talk but why is Taehyung so silent?

Everyone at the table turns their head towards Taehyung who seems to be in deep thoughts.

Jennie: Taehyung? Taehyung? (Inhales sharply) KIM TAEHYUNG I SWEAR IF YOU DON'T ANSWER ME I'M GONNA CHOP YOUR HEAD OFF.

Taehyung flinched and looked around with wide eyes as if he saw a ghost. Jennie shouting kinda has the same effect on everyone.

Taehyung: What happened? Is there an emergency?

Namjoon: We called you many times. But you were so lost in your thoughts. What were you thinking about?

Taehyung: Oh. Nothing in particular. Just some random thoughts.

Seokjin: Okay. So how do you feel like? In a few hours, you're gonna be the head alpha. You excited bud?

Taehyung: It is the responsibility invested in me to take care of my people. I cannot imagine the position as a means of gaining personal happiness. Although I am glad that now I can work on making the packs more united.

Namjoon: Oh, about that. I have prepared the invitations for the conference to be held this Saturday. If I have your approval then I will send it to the other pack leaders.

Taehyung: Then please do so as soon as possible Hyung. Delay in this matter might create inconvenience for the pack leaders with their schedule.

Namjoon: Ok Tae. Let's leave now then. The letters need your official sign and stamp.

Taehyung: Ok then hyung. Let's go.

Tae and Namjoon get ready to leave.

Seokjin: At least finish your breakfast before leaving.

Taehyung: No Jin Hyung, it's ok. We'll have lunch later.

Seokjin: But-

Namjoon: It's ok honey. We have to get going. It's important.

Seokjin: Ok. But make sure you eat lunch on time. Last time you skipped lunch and had to starve until dinner.

Namjoon: Ok dear. We'll get going now. Bye.

Namjoon pecks Jin and leaves with Taehyung to the Pack leader's office. Namjoon's action left Jin blushing. Jisoo noticed this and started taunting him.

Jisoo: Oh dear brother-in-law. You have been with Namjoon for three years now. Why do you still blush every time for a simple peck?

Seokjin: You'll get it once you find your mate. It doesn't matter how long you've been together. Each moment feels like a new experience. It never gets old.

Jin's words left both Jisoo and Jennie in deep thoughts about what their mate would be like, how and when they'll meet, whether their mate would like them or not. Then they decided to wait until it happened and shrugged off their thoughts. They went about their day as usual. Jin and Jisoo left for the Pack school together while Jennie left for her office.

They were all happy for their cousin and had wanted to prepare for his big day but they knew that leaving their jobs behind for that will only make him angry rather than grateful. But they still planned a small gift for their youngest.
