Taehyung went about his daily schedule. He got up in the morning, went for a walk in the forest, and returned to the packhouse. Though a walk in the jungle was a habit of his, it was different this time. He hoped to meet the person with the sweet scent from the previous day. But he couldn't pick up the intoxicating scent as he hoped. He returned to the pack with slight disappointment.
He went to the packhouse to discuss an important matter with his father regarding the growing disturbances at the border shared with the woodwind pack. He then learned that his father had gone to the guest house to welcome the pack leaders who came for the conference on coming Saturday. As he went towards the guest house, he smelled the same addictive scent from the day before. He walked towards the guest house as he felt the scent become stronger and stronger. But before he could enter the guest house someone called him from behind.
Namjoon: Taehyung
Taehyung: Yes hyung?
Namjoon: Tae, the woodwind pack is stirring up trouble. The guards at the border were killed by an unknown person who has entered the territory. I suspect that they are preparing to attack during the banquet. If that's the case, then all the pack leaders and officials will be in danger. We must act fast.
Tae: Yes Hyung. I will go into the forest to search for the intruder right now with Jennie and Sehun. Send our best soldiers to guard the borders. Make sure to send guards to the border shared with every other pack. The woodwind pack is brave enough to attack us. That means they have an even more powerful ally. Prepare the military force for the fight. Inform the guests of the possible danger. They must be ready in case an attack occurs. Make sure there are some guards in front of the guest house as well. Tell Baekhyun and Jisoo noona to move young pups, elders, and patients in the pack to the safehouse. The pack hospital must be ready in case an emergency occurs, and people are injured. Make sure Eomma, Appa, and Jin hyung are safe in the packhouse. All these must be done as soon as possible. We don't have much time. I'll leave now. Once the soldiers are in position, wait for my word.
Namjoon: Yes Taehyung. (Taehyung starts walking away) Tae, make sure you won't die.
Tae: (chuckles) That's not gonna happen anytime soon Hyung. Keep everyone safe and wait for my signal.
Namjoon: Mn.
Namjoon turns towards the packhouse and mind-links Jisoo and Baekhyun to move the pups and elders into the safe house. He then informs Seungmin, the head doctor at the pack hospital, to move the patients to the safehouse and prepare for emergencies. He mind links Hyunjin, the military general to assemble the guards and the soldiers for the fight. When he reaches the packhouse, he sees his mate and aunt preparing breakfast for them.
Seokjin: Hey Namjoon. You look stressed. What happened?
Namjoon went towards them and explained the situation to them. That is when his uncle, the former pack leader, entered the packhouse. From Mrs. Kim's and Seokjin's distressed look and Namjoon's serious expression, he understood that something serious was going on.
Mr. Kim: What is it?
Namjoon explains the situation to him. On hearing the matter and Taehyung's orders, he understood that his son will take care of everything.
Mr. Kim: Taehyung's plan is good. We'll do as he said. Honey let's stay in the safe room with Seokjin. Taehyung, Namjoon, Jennie, and Jisoo will take care of everything.
Mrs. Kim: But how can we hide when the entire pack is in danger. Shouldn't we also help?
Mr. Kim: Honey, listen to what Tae says. He has a plan. We're old now. We won't be of much help and slow them down.
Mrs. Kim: You're right. Let's do as Tae says. Come on Seokjin.
Seokjin: (looks at Namjoon) Be safe. And come back.
Namjoon: (smiles softly and hugs Seokjin) I will. I promise. Don't worry. Take care of uncle and aunt and yourself too. I love you. (breaks the hug and pecks Seokjin's forehead). Bye.
Seokjin worriedly watches Namjoon as he leaves the packhouse. He knows Namjoon is strong enough to take care of himself and protect others as well. But he can't help but worry what would happen if something went wrong.
Mr. and Mrs. Kim assure him that everything will be fine. The three of them together went into the safe room in the basement of the packhouse. It was built to protect the clan* members in case of danger.
Namjoon's POV
After I left the packhouse, I went to the clearing where all the soldiers were assembled by Hyunjin. I told Hyunjin to be ready in case of a sudden attack. I instructed the guards to follow me to the pack guest house. I entered the guesthouse and rang the emergency alarm. Within five minutes, all the pack leaders who have arrived along with their subordinates came to the lounge area.
Third person POV
Namjoon took a deep breath before addressing the guests.
Namjoon: Good morning, everyone. We have run into an unexpected situation at present. An intruder killed our guards at the border and has entered the pack grounds. We do not know who the intruder is, but it is for sure that he means no good. The woodwind pack is planning on attacking our pack today. Our pack leader is prepared if it comes down to a fight. I request all of you to stay in the guest house. Please do not leave the building at any cost. We've arranged guards around the building to protect you. You are our guest and we don't want anything to happen to you. Kindly follow my instructions and cooperate with us. Thank you.
Saying this Namjoon exited the guest house. After instructing the guards on what to do, he left to join Hyunjin and the soldiers at the clearing. Then he waited for any sign of danger.
(With Taehyung)
After leaving Namjoon, Taehyung headed towards the forest while mind linking Jennie and Sehun to meet him there. He was slightly disappointed that he couldn't see whom the sweet scent belonged to, but he scolded himself that whoever that is, the safety of the pack and the guests is the topmost priority. Jennie and Sehun met him at the boundary of the forest. The three of them changed to their wolf forms and began running towards the borders.
On reaching midway between the pack and the border, Taehyung picked up a strange scent. The scent was too faint that only Taehyung with his true blood abilities could pick it up. He was a bit confused about the scent until he realized what the scent belonged to. He immediately mind-linked Jennie and Sehun.
V: Jen, Reo!
Reo: Yes Alpha.
Jen: Did you find anything?
V: There's a vampire in our territory.
