21: Past

"I have so much to tell you.." She says looking into his beautiful green eyes. The eyes she has missed so dearly, that she has cried in the dead of night for. Eyes that she would do anything she could to see, for as long as she lives. She was smitten, and she could not even control herself.

Santino smiles at her, he wants to wipe her tears but his hands are still a bit tired. Gosh how he missed those set of mismatched eyes as well. They were his only light when he was trapped in a never-ending tunnel of darkness. His angel, his love and the reason he fought to live.

"You can tell me princess." He whisperes ending his sentence with a signature smile.

Her heart must have skipped a beat or two.

"Mateo!!" She calls out with a dominant demeanor to her words. A second later, a panicked Mateo opens the door. His expression changed to a small smile when he saw his Don now awake.

"Yes ma'am?" He says to her.

"There's something I want to tell Santino, I feel as if I owe you too a bit of explanation. So take a seat this is going to take a while."

With that, Mateo takes a seat and the men pay attention to Charlene. "This is going to explain a lot of things that I know the both of you must be curious about." She begins.

"Some time last year, I lost my parents. They got shot. At that, I felt as though I lost everything, and along with my parents a piece of me died. I became angry and powerful. After burying my parents I travelled around the world and did all sorts of different training I could possibly get. I learned how to fight, how to shoot, weapons and even how to kill. I did it all so I could find my parent's killers as soon as possible, and I did find them. When I found them, I killed them all, and then I just became a stripper-" she laughs, cutting herself off. This part is always funny to her. "Anyway, Angelo found me and helped me, because he said I have potential. Now here I am. Everything that happened was a peace of me I wanted to leave behind and keep away from you both. The monster that lies below what I allow everyone to see, the monster that I realised is a part of me nonetheless. I guess I could not keep it hidden forever. I trust you guys and I thought you deserved to know. Also to explain everything I've been doing recently." She finishes and clears her throat while nervously looking down at her hands.

Santino and Mateo are still quiet, making her even more nervous. She's wondering; do they hate me now, are they angry because they feel I lied.

She is beginning to panick, the suspension taking a tall on her. So she begins to stand up thinking that perhaps it's better if she should leave.

"No!" Both voices say.

"Don't leave." Now Santino says and she sits down again. The men look at each other and Santino sighs.

"Mia bella, we are so proud and honoured that you had the courage to tell us about your sensitive past. About the things you did and the person you became. It takes some balls to do that."(my beautiful)

Santino says and they all chuckle a bit. "aaand..... That means you're ready to show us how really badass you are." He finishes off and they all laugh.

"Okay, I'll show you." she says, and Santino decides to open his mouth again, speaking pure crap this time around;"I knew there was something about you when you switched the time we fu-"

Thankfully he stops there, because it looks pretty obvious he was about to receive a hot slap right now.

"I'm gonna go get myself a cup of coffee gentlemen." She says, standing up and turning to leave. Santino can't help but check her out from the moment she stood because the latex tights she is wearing highlighted every curve of hers. Biting his lip, he turns to look at Mateo now that the distraction just walked out. Mateo chuckles, because he caught him starring and it was obvious.

"So you just let her wear that when I'm here dying Mateo?" Santino asks.

"I apologize il capo, she was a bit scary you know. I didn't think I should stop her at that time." (Boss)

Santino chuckles. "It's okay Mateo. But tell me what happened."

"il capo, è stato pazzesco." (Boss, it was crazy.) Mateo begins to explain. "Your woman turned crazy the moment you got shot. The part of her she just told us about had emerged out of nowhere. The second that bullet hit you, she screamed her lungs out. She was sticking to your bleeding body like glue, she wouldn't let us take you away and she was so strong. I had to use all my strength to remove her from the ground." Santino watches Mateo as he is explaining and moving around while making some actions with his hands. Santino thinks it is dramatic, yet entertaining. Mateo looks like a child explaining a Transformers movie.

"We put the two of you in separate cars so she wouldn't have to see you in pain. We all met at the hospital, watched the doctor take you to the O.R and honestly I expected her to just abandon you, or cry, or just be weak like women usually would. She didn't boss. She just turned to me and said we should go home, no emotion whatsoever in her eyes. Only danger Santino.... When we got to your house she just hit me with my jacket and headed to your bedroom. I honestly thought that was rude of her though, there was no need. At least could've added a -thank you Mateo for the jacket" With that Santino raises his eyebrow at him and just continues listening nonetheless...

Mateo proceeded to explain everything that took place not leaving a single detail out, including how Charlene proposed they kill Nathan.

Santino is just shocked at this point, he cannot believe his ears. Charlene did that? She even killed someone? And most of all... For him?

"I'm actually a little bit jealous I missed that." Santino said jokingly and right on cue, Charlene enters with a look of disgust on her face.

"Hospital coffee sucks." She says, earning a laugh from the two men.
