Where It All Started

"Are you ready?" Dr. Williams asked as he held your shoulder.

"Yes, Sir." You answered walking with him through the hallways.

"Just remember, don't act suspicious at the airport. Just stay low." He said as you hummed in response.

"And also, here's a new phone. Just call me when you need some instructions, okay? My phone number is already in your contacts." He added.

"Got it, sir." You replied, nodding.

Both of you got in the main hall of the hospital, someone suddenly tugged your shirt.

You turned around to see who did it, then you saw a little kid, about four to five years old.

"Oh... hey there, kid. Is there a problem?" You said as you smiled at him.

"U-Uhm. . . Wh-Where's the comfort room?" He asked, nervous and scared.

"Just walk there down the hallway and turn right, you'll then see the comfort room." You answered as you pointed to the hallways.

"Th-Thank you." He said as you heard his stomach growling, he must be hungry.

He then started running towards the comfort room as you forgot something.

"Kid, wait!" You called him as he turned around.

You ran towards him as you kneeled down in front of him.

"Here, eat this. You're hungry." You said as you showed him the food.

"B-But m-my parents told m-me not to accept th-things from strangers." He said as you chuckled.

"Hey, I maybe a stranger... but I don't hurt people. I'm not a bad guy." You said as you started cursing yourself from lying to him.

"Really?" He asked.

"Yes, trust me." You showed a smile as he looked at your face.

He gulped as he slowly and shakingly get the food from your hand, trying to hesitate.

He then quickly ran away from you as you snorted.

"Slowly changing, huh?" Dr. Williams smiled as he looked at the kid.

"I don't know if I'm really changing, but I'll try my best." You stood up and both of you started walking again.

The two of you went outside, waiting for a vehicle.

You turned around and looked at the hospital one last time, hoping that Yeji would survive.

You sighed as you turned around again.

"Going to miss her?" Dr. Williams asked.

"Yeah, and I'm also worried for her." You answered.

"That's why you have to be quick." He said as both of you saw the taxi stopping in front of you.

"Now go." He said as he slapped your back.

"Goodbye, sir." You said as you opened the door.

"Bye, be quick before it's too late." He said as you nodded in response.

You went inside the cab as you close the door.

"Where to go, sir?" He asked.

"To the airport, please." You answered.

The driver stepped on the gas pedal as the cab started moving, leaving Dr. Williams behind.

You saw him entering the hospital, continuing his work.
