Annabelle

As I walked out of my room I played with my braid nervously. I heard another door close. Hmm, shouldn't we all be downstairs for dinner? I walked out and thought nothing of it, until I caught a smell of something, delicious? I sniffed a couple times. It smelled like an out doorsy kinda forest smell. With a hint of cinnamon. It smelled so good. I was tempted to follow it, but decided against it. Not having shifted yet my sense of smell wasn't always reliable. Otherwise I would've been able to detect Brent as a werewolf much sooner.

"Everyone, dinner time!" I heard Fawn say loudly from down the stairs.

I heard the opening and closing of other doors and people walking down hallways. I snapped out of my trance and started walking down quickly so I could claim a decent spot. I figured the scent was probably just coming from outside or from someone's very nice cologne.

''It's mate.''

I stopped dead in my tracks. I should not be hearing voices that clearly in my head. Not unless I was going crazy or I had shifted and acquired my wolf, but considering I needed to be mated first..

"I'm your wolf stupid.''

Well someone's not very polite. But, that's not possible I shouldn't be able to talk to my wolf yet. I haven't changed.

''Well I don't know but my name is Isabelle.''

''I assume you know mine then since your in my head,'' I talked back to 'it'

'Yes and it's a pretty name.' 'it' said back

"I am not an 'it' I am your WOLF!"

"Okay well I'm sorry I'm still in shock! And can we not talk NOW? I need to concentrate on eating my dinner and where I'm walking!"

I didn't hear from 'Isabelle' after that so I continued walking down the stairs. Once I reached the bottom I started looking around for the dining room from what Brent vaguely showed me. I smelled my way towards the kitchen. Fawn was setting the table by herself so I offered to help. I grabbed some plates and utensils and napkins.

"Oh, thank you dear."

"No problem."

With that I started setting up the table. I made sure to fold the napkins and put the silverware on top of them. I put the glasses upside down next to the plates. After I finished I went over to help Fawn with the large plate of turkey. We set it in the middle of the table along with the green beens, stuffing, chicken legs, mashed potatoes, and the salad.

"Uhm, wow! This is a lot of food."

"Yes it is but the men in this pack eat like pigs or well, over sized wolves."

We both looked at each other for a minute then burst out laughing. Just then everybody started filing in. We both covered our laughter with coughs. A man about my dads age who was around the same height and bulk level wrapped his arms around Fawn. He must be alpha.

"Dinner looks delicious, love." That confirmed my thoughts what with her being Luna.

"Oh hon this is Annabelle, Annabelle this is my husband Travis."

"It's nice to meet you Alpha Travis! Thank you so much for allowing me to visit here." I stuttered out quickly.

"Of course we are glad to have you."

With that Fawn managed to get everybody in order and sitting down.

"Everyone, please be seated I'd like to introduce you to someone who will be visiting us for the time being." I could feel my blush starting at my toes and I tried to hold it back.

Fawn smiled at me reassuringly and I smiled back timidly. Gosh, I'm so nervous.

'Just be yourself.' Isabelle told me.

Suddenly I felt better and looked around to see my grandparents smiling warmly at me and everyone else looking at me curiously. I blushed what I'm sure was scarlet.

"Everyone this is Annabelle, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley's granddaughter. And me and Travis expect you to treat her as any other pack member."

Her and Travis then smiled at me warmly. They reminded me so much of my parents.

"Okay everyone lets dig in before it gets cold." Travis said excitedly. Someone was hungry and he's not the only one.

I decided to sit where I already was two girls about my age came running over jumping up and down excitedly.

They then proceeded in sitting down on either side of me.

"Hi!" They both said at exactly the same time. Then glared at the other before smiling warmly back at me. I giggled they were hilarious.

"Hi, I'm Annabelle, but you can call me Anna."

"Oh my gosh, that's a pretty name I'm Kristine or Kristy for short." The blonde one said. Her hair was straight as corn silk and she had hazel eyes with freckles.

"And I'm Avalon." The other said, she had black hair that was slightly wavy and slightly straight at the same time. And her eyes were a piercing blue.

"Nice to meet you." I giggled.

Kristy shrieked happily and Avalon just rolled her eyes with a small smile. I was glad to be welcomed to quickly and wholeheartedly. Kristy was definitely rambunctious with a warm and open personality, while Avalon was more calm and put things into perspective. I enjoyed both of their company as we ate dinner.
I learned that Brent was actually Kristy's brother and that Avalon had an older brother named Logan. They met when they were younger since Brent and Avalon's brother always hang out and are best friends. So to make the long story short Kristy and Avalon became best friends.

After dinner was over and we were all getting ready to leave to go to bed, Kristy stopped me.

"Hey we should hang out again, are you going to our school tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I am and I'm dreading it. It's my first day."

"Well, now you can hang with us, so you'll be alright." Avalon said with a small smile.

"That would be amazing! I'll see you guys later?" They both nodded and smiled and I waved bye to them and headed upstairs to my room. As I got closer I couldn't help but hear the ruckus coming from the room across from mine. I smelled another scent mingled with the one I smelt earlier, and could hear what was obviously a female voice on the other side of the door. I don't know why but it pained me to think about what they were doing. And my heart started to ache.

I felt a churning inside my stomach like something was trying to claw its way out, and I had to stumble my way back into my room. I quickly shut the door and nearly ran to my bed where I curled in a ball. I had to take deep breaths and push back what felt like razor blades trying to break out of me. Eventually it stopped and I could catch my breath.

"Isabelle what was that? Were you trying to push your way out of me?!"

''Don't worry about it, just get some sleep.''

I was not expecting to be able to communicate with her especially not before shifting, and I'm not so daft as to assume she was feeling any type of way. But for some reason she quickly shut herself off from me but not before I could feel the sadness and anger. I knew these weren't my feelings.

I couldn't help but feel worried.
