Annabelle

Was Travis implying what I thought he was? No,no I refuse to believe it. I don't, I have a perfect mom and dad and brother at home. I couldn't help the nagging suspicion in the back of my mind, telling me to believe that the King and Queen were my real parents. Everyone was watching and waiting for my reaction, I breathed in and out slowly.

"I have a Mom and Dad at home, they are my parents." I said.

"Annabelle you have to conside-" I cut Travis off.

"No! I refuse to believe that they aren't my real parents, because they are! They are the people who raised me." I said my voice full of conviction. Ellie was still holding me at my side and she was looking down guiltily for a reason I didn't know.

"Dinner's ready." Fawn said from the kitchen. I knew she heard everything.

Me and Ellie walked to the table I sat next to her and picked at my food. I ate small bites and looked down at my plate. Ellie ate all her dinner and waited patiently for me to finish. I looked over at her she was frowning at me and looking between me and my plate obviously wanting me to eat. I ate a couple bites of my chicken and mashed potatoes when I looked back at her she was smiling at me. I chuckled, when I put my fork down she frowned, I picked it back up and she smiled. I finished my dinner and put my plate in the sink, Ellie followed my example and followed me upstairs to my room. She was holding my hand when we walked into my room.

"You can sleep on the bed, and i'll sleep on the couch."

She let go of my hand and walked silently to the bed. She closed her eyes and i saw a small tear leak out. I was at her side in an instant, I had an arm around her shoulders and she was curled into my side crying.

"Ellie? What's the matter?" I asked softly. She sobbed and hiccuped. She shook her head.

"y-you'll hate me." She said in a tiny voice. She hasn't talked since she got here. So I was quite surprised.

"No I won't. Please tell me I don't like seeing you cry." She looked up at me and sniffled.

"They made me do it. I didn't want to." She sobbed.

"Who did? They can't hurt you here Ellie, you can tell me." Her eyes glistened with hope.

"It was the bad man. He killed my mommy and said if I didn't do it he would kill my daddy and brothers." She was sniffling, but not crying anymore.

"They have your family? What did they make you do?" I asked. My heart clenched for her. She was one brave little girl.

"He said I had to come here and become friends with you. He said I had to lie and tell you that I escaped. He said he would kill my brothers and daddy like he did my mom. I didn't want to, but I don't want my family to die." She started sobbing again.

I held her close. She was telling the truth I could see it in her eyes. Who would do this? They already killed her mom. And they were threatening to kill her dad and brothers. They clearly wanted her to get close to me and the pack so she could report back to this person about what we where doing so they have the advantage to attack the pack when we didn't know.

"Is there anything else?" She thought for a second before her eyes widened.

"He-he said that I have to report things to him so he can start hurting people. He wants to attack. He said to tell you that he was going to attack in a month. Annabelle please don't go i don't want you to die, he said he was going to kill people." She was holding my arm and started crying again.
