Annabelle

My eyes wouldn't conjure up any more tears. My face was an emotionless mask as I replayed every detail about how Colton died. When he said he could 'see her' I knew he meant his real mate while he was dying. He was happy now that's all that mattered I guess. It still felt like my heart was torn into shreds, but thinking he was happy made me feel better. The rest of the pack fighters in Dark Crescent Moon had followed the trail of the hunters. It led to an abandoned wear house. The hunters that had been remaining inside were immediately killed. We freed the people being held captive. At least something good came out of this, among the people being held captive Kristy and Avalon found their mates. They were actually Ellie's older brothers, but I couldn't even celebrate with them, I was mourning. I haven't slept in two days, I simply couldn't. I don't understand how the 'Moon Goddess' said that it would be easier to remove my mark, that i wouldn't feel pain. It obviously wasn't the case. When she said she had un-done the mating I found out that she also basically gave me back my virginity. Yay. Note the sarcasm. It's not like i'm going to find someone else anyway. Colton was gone. It didn't matter anymore.

My thoughts were interrupted by an urgent knock to my door.

"Come in." I said.

Travis, the Alpha, popped his head in. I looked at him curiously.

"Annabelle, the King and Queen have stopped by for a visit, and as Alpha female of the Pure Lupus pack, you need to greet them as well." My brows furrowed. The King and Queen were here? Why?

"Very well. I'll be down in ten minutes." Travis nodded his head and closed my door.

I grabbed some jeans and a sweater and walked into my bathroom. Setting my clothes on the toilet, I stripped out of my pajamas and jumped into the cold water that hadn't had a chance to heat up. I scrubbed my hair and body quickly before rinsing off. I turned the nob to turn off the water and got out of the shower. My white fluffy towel was hanging on the rack, so I grabbed it and dried off quickly. I was dressed and ready in another two minutes with my hair laying down my back and already curling again. Stepping down the staircase I caught two scents that seemed familiar but almost unfamiliar. Isabelle started stirring inside of me. I paused mid-step when I saw them. The King and Queen.

I froze. Suddenly something that had been in the back of my mind pulled for front. An invisible connection was being formed and I was suddenly aware of two different presense's in my mind. The King and Queen abruptly turned around and what I saw stunned me further. The Queen had deep chocolate eyes and chestnut brown hair that smoothed down her back in the same ringlets I had. Her body was slender and petite. She had the same facial structure as me, heart shaped. I looked to her left and saw the King. Familiar green orbs burned into mine, it was like looking at my eyes in a mirror. The King had a tall form and broad shoulders. He had dark brown almost black hair and a trimmed goatee. They were both in robes. The King had on a velvety crown with some small rubies, while the Queen had one made of diamonds.

"Isabelle?" The Queen looked at me hope shining in her eyes.

"That's my wolfs name, mine is Annabelle." Her face lit up like she was hoping I would confirm, but how does she know my wolfs name?

"Isabelle, your wolf, has been calling to mine for the past seventeen years. It has become stronger over the past couple months, so I'd assumed you shifted due to finding your mate, but I see no mark."

"It's a complicated story. But I do have a question."

"Yes?"

"Are you my real parents?" The Queen teared up.

"Yes we are." Without hesitation I ran into my Mom's open arms and gave her a hug that she returned.

"Oh. My little girl." My Dad had tears streaming down his face too and he quickly embraced the both of us. We hugged for what seemed like, a long time.
