It looked like a scene out of a movie, we stood there looking at the prison.
"Alright listen up, Maggie, Glenn and Charlie draw as much walkers you can to you. The rest of us will go inside and take them out." Rick declared.
"How do we get in without drawing them towards us, for example the gates" Carol questioned.
"Over there, we can clip open the fence and hold it close again with wires." Daryl pointed as he answered. We nodded, ready to fight for a place to live, a place for a sustainable life.

We raced in, hoping that our efforts wouldn't get out friends killed.
Me, Maggie, and Glenn started hitting on the fence trying to draw as many walkers as we can. Charlie smiled for a second it reminded her of when she was on the farm and they fostered a dog.

flashback
"Dad.. someone left a puppy on our doorstep." Hershel got up from eating his breakfast. This was not a strange thing for the family, he was a vet and people often left animals they couldn't raise.
"Come here boy, Come here" Charlie said as she tried to get the small dogs attention. She ran around the farm with the dog chasing her. She giggled as he caught up to her.

She was surprised out of her daze when Lori screamed. Charlie looked at Maggie for her approval, Maggie nodded for her to go.
Charlie drew out her gun seeing that Lori was struggling to fight off a walker in guard gear. Lori threw the walker off of herself and it stumbled, Charlie whistled for the walker to look at her instead and it did. She realised quickly that shooting the walker wouldn't work, she tried to grab on to the helmet. Charlie let go of the walker when it tried to bite her hand, she kicked it to the floor and it stumbled back to the floor.
"Charlie!" Carl yelled for her, he tossed her a knife, not knowing what to do, Charlie lifted the helmet and stabbed the walker in the throat. It went limp. Charlie looked at Maggie and she did the same.
"Did you see that??" Maggie grinned at Glenn for approval, and soon everyone did the same.

"Alright, we cleared out the cell block you guys can put your stuff down and settle." Rick told to the group.

Charlie put her stuff down on the top bunk, and Carl walked in after her and put his on the bottom bunk, but it was cut short when Hershel walked in.
"Found your room yet" Hershel teased and Carl paused.
"Yeah..uh- I was just making sure Charlie was safe..." he said awkwardly. Carl took his stuff from the bed and Hershel placed his down. Charlie grinned at her dad and rolled her eyes.
"You know.. the mattress isn't actually bad.." Charlie said while bouncing on it.  Hershel sat down as if to test the bed too, it was the first real bed they slept in, in months.
"Hershel, we're gonna clear out some more cell blocks and scout for food in the cafeteria," Rick announced, Hershel stood up without question.
"Be careful in there.." Charlie whispered as her dad left. She trusted that he would, so why did she feel that something was going to go wrong?
"No Carl, you're not going. What if we don't make it out? You will have to be the man and protect the group." Rick warns, and it made Charlie feel worse. If Rick thought they might not make it out then why did she have faith they will.
